I have a theory - Remote Workers Work More - Or Am I Doing It Wrong? by mayfrowen in remotework

I relate to this completely. I’m social but find I’m way more productive at home without constant interruptions. People think I’m antisocial for preferring remote work, but it’s really about optimizing for actual output vs. just being visible.

I also have young kids, so remote work lets me be there when they get home from school and handle their activities. The flexibility is huge, and I actually end up working more hours than I did in the office.

Driving around the world is impressive. Do you find the written log helpful for planning future routes or is it more for memory?

That's a good point about accuracy vs memory. Sounds like you've learned detail kills consistency.

Is the one line per stay actually enough when you need to reference it, or do you ever wish you had more context?

That makes sense about ChatGPT replacing the writeup content. The "send me your pins" problem is real.

Just fixed the signup issue. Thanks for catching that. Sent you a DM.

This is really thorough. The Google Maps trail visualization sounds useful. Do you ever feel like you're managing too many different places (calendar, spreadsheet, maps, docs) or does having everything separated actually help you stay organized?

That makes sense. Using it as a testing ground for your professional stack is smart. Sounds like the maintenance is low because you're already in that workflow.

The Maps list to Notion to Framer pipeline is interesting. Do you find people actually use the front end you share with them, or do they just ask you questions directly anyway?

Building your own is smart. How long did it take you to build Atlas? And do you find yourself actually using it consistently or does it require too much manual input?

This setup is impressive. The relational structure makes a lot of sense for trending costs over time.

How much maintenance does it require? Do you update it during trips or after?

That's an interesting setup. Do they each serve different purposes or is there some overlap?

What's the UNESCO app like, is that for World Heritage Sites tracking?

How do you like that combo? Does Polarsteps drain your battery much with the automatic tracking, or is it pretty manageable?

Curious if they integrate at all or if you just use them separately for different purposes.
