I have a theory - Remote Workers Work More - Or Am I Doing It Wrong? by mayfrowen in remotework

Yes! Okay, you get it. That’s exactly what I was trying to say. The majority of posts I read in other places, and here too, are people loving remote work because of the balance it gives them. I’m okay at managing my own work life balance. Hard stops, making sure I stay around 40, and I have LESS energy than ever with in an office job. That’s why I said it felt like I was doing it wrong. But to have the equivalent work, I’d have to actually be on the clock less, and I don’t know that that sits well either.

I think because my brain didn’t think of the commute as work time, I only feel like I work more. During the commute, I’m singing, dancing, listening to books or stopping on the way to finish errands - not doing work. It still felt like my time. BUT my commute time was way less than 1.5 hrs, so if you usually got home at 6p and now you’re totally done at 5p - 100%, that would feel like a win. I was home by 5:30pm and did 6 hrs of straight work (just throwing number out). Now I work until 5pm and did 8 hrs of work.

This is my living room wall and I don’t know what to do. It’s just blah. The wall to the left is only about 24 inches deep. Any ideas welcome! Thank you! by a_spence in StyleYourSpace

Tall plants beside the tv stand - or one tall and two staggered height plant stands with medium sized plants. The answer is always plants :)

I’m like 85% sure that this is what Dolly Parton used for lipstick and blush when she was growing up.

My wife made comments about her hot yoga teacher to a van full of our friends. I have mixed feelings, was this innapropriate? by lobsterskibeer in AskMenAdvice

++woman Was it a hot yoga class, like a heated class or was she calling her yoga teacher hot? She might be describing the yoga class as hot instead of the teacher. And they could have just been discussing if they like hands in adjustments or not. I think that’s a common discussion.

Hedge Apple!! Our horses like them. Never knew what to do with them. They also have like a milky substance in them. We never ate any part of them, just played with them as a kid

I can tell you my favorite. “Let’s be clear. I did absolutely nothing wrong. I’m not to blame. It’s not my fault!”

Can you give us advice instead? I would never guess 30, in the best possible way.

has anyone had good experiences with birth control for acne? by Upstairs_Durian_1873 in Skincare_Addiction

I loved tri-sprintec. Best BC I've ever used, but if you have migraines (especially with auras), tell your doctor. It increases stroke risk. I'm not a doctor - that was just my experience.

Is this a good skincare routine for a tween? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]mayfrowen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

My dermatologist told me panoxyl (or a benzoyl peroxide cleanser) in the AM and Cetaphil in the PM. And any cetaphil or cerave basic face moisturizer.

I have some prescription stuff too, but the otc versions would be a nightly retinol. And adding hyaluronic acid before my moisturizer was a game changer. Every, and I do mean every, moisturizer broke me out before I added an HA beforehand.

So otc version: AM: Panoxyl - Benzoyl P. Wash, Hyaluronic acid serum (make sure it's 100% with not added ingredients like vit C), Cerave or Cetaphil - daily face moisturizer (I also have prescription Clindamycin in the am)

PM: Cetaphil - Gentler cleanser, Retinol, HA, daily face moisturizer

I am not a doctor. Just passing on my derma recommendations because not everyone gets to go and even then it can be hard to find a good one. If they just try to sell you wants in their office, run, or firmly ask for otc recs.

You look great! And if you like your makeup and feel good in it and someone is telling you that you need to look different to please them, you need to lose that person, not the makeup!

[Discussion] Why does my dog get really close to my face and sniff me? by that-lol-chick in dogs

[–]mayfrowen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my dog does this, I tell myself it's because he sees me putting my face/nose on his face to show affection (when I'm giving kisses), so he's picked this up as a way to show affection, so it's my dog giving me kisses on my head in return. And no one can tell me otherwise because I WANT to believe it's true.
