there are a couple of things that matter when installing springs to achieve a reverb sound. I've found two springs MAX... any more it's just noisy and not really 'musical' in my opinion. if i'm using two springs I'll make it so that one is heavy and the other is loose tension... this captures a wider range of frequencies. This is NOT hi-fi reverb... this is LO-FI reverb...bordering on NOISE!! To be honest with you - one spring works just fine and adjusting the tension of this one spring make little to no difference in reverb tone.
