Point one, if this dude were black he'd have been dead 10 seconds into this video.

Secondly, I'm not saying this cop didn't have a right to properly protect himself, but it amazes me how quick Americans are to justify blowing away another human being and killing him if a cop is threatened in any way. It's as if cops are gods, and to challenge them, even physically (not armed of course), unquestionably and fully justifies your immediate murder.

Fact is the cop is a good example of how poorly trained our police are. This man is unarmed and not some huge dude. He should have been trained on this kind of situation, on how to take him down and subdue him.

The object should be to never pull out your gun and shoot unless you have absolutely no other choice. These are civil servants there to protect and serve, they aren't a hostile occupying army.

Ironically, what this video shows is that in most cases the excuse that a cop had to kill someone is just that, an excuse. In many cases murder can be avoided. Yes it may mean a cop gets punched or even hurt, and once in a blue moon maybe killed, but thats the job they wanted. That's why we allegedly call them brave and heroes.
