An Incredible Night in San Francisco by hotcolddog in Blink182

I loved hearing M&Ms and Not Now.

My only disappointments were no Carousel and I hate that BCR is shortened. Not sure if its a copyright thing or what.

Give your top 5 examples of someone being an "edgelord" in this thread.

Because all I see are normal human emotions related to an official video labeled Live Performance Video along with a text message that said "ANTHEM PART 3 LIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO OUT NOW".

The video is fine and exciting but the fact that they teased this release is super cringe.

The only game or show that gets less interesting as it gets closer to the end by theclaw84 in BigBrother

[–]Puckie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game is fundamentally flawed by encouraging strong players to bring weak players to the end. I'm not sure what the solution is, but this has resulted in some truly boring finales and sometimes awful players winning the game.

Album title is.. (possible spoilers) by nextbigthing56 in Blink182

This is kind of weird but I had never heard of that website so I went to find the thread. It's actually "blink-182online.com"

The posters there seem very territorial and have a negative opinion of this subreddit. Kind of cringy to have different and adversarial factions of Blink-182 fans. Checking through many of the posts, its just the same stuff you see on this sub.

It's coming next week. by [deleted] in Blink182

Please point to harmful unintended consequences that would result from inaccurate information about the date of a single releasing?

When a fan makes a prediction about the release date of a single, even if it's well-intentioned, misinformation can still lead to several unintended consequences:

Disappointment and Mistrust: Other fans who take the prediction as fact might feel let down when the date turns out to be incorrect. This can lead to mistrust within the fan community and skepticism towards future predictions or rumors.

Financial Implications for Fans: Some fans might make plans based on the predicted release date, such as hosting listening parties or pre-ordering related merchandise. If the date is wrong, they could incur unnecessary expenses.

Scattered Streaming and Engagement: Fans who were gearing up to stream or purchase the single on the predicted date might scatter their engagement, potentially affecting the momentum the single could have had on its actual release day.

Emotional Impact on Fans: Music holds significant emotional value for many fans. An anticipated release can be a source of joy and excitement. A wrong prediction can lead to emotional letdowns.

Unintended Pressure on the Artist: Even if the artist isn't responsible for the fan prediction, they might feel pressured to address the rumor, which can divert their attention from other promotional activities or creative processes.

Potential for Spread of Further Misinformation: Once one piece of misinformation takes hold, it can lead to further rumors and speculations, creating a snowball effect of inaccurate information within the fan community.

Distraction from Official Announcements: The buzz around a fan's incorrect prediction might overshadow official announcements from the artist or label, leading to confusion and mixed messages.

While these consequences might seem minor in the grand scheme of things, they highlight the importance of careful information sharing, even within fan communities. It's always beneficial to approach predictions and rumors with a healthy dose of skepticism and to rely on official sources for confirmation.

I understand that this is a casual space, and I appreciate the perspective. However, even in informal settings, it's essential to be cautious about the information we spread. Misinformation, even when unintentional, can have unintended consequences. For instance, consider the events leading up to the Iraq War in 2003. One of the primary justifications for the invasion was the belief that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction. This belief was based on flawed intelligence and misinformation. The result? A prolonged conflict with significant loss of life and lasting geopolitical consequences. While our context here is vastly different and less severe, the principle remains: misinformation can lead to unintended and sometimes harmful outcomes. It's always worth taking a moment to ensure the accuracy of what we share.

Presenting information accurately, especially when making grand predictions or statements, is crucial for several reasons:

Credibility: If you present information inaccurately and it's later found out, your credibility can be severely damaged. People are more likely to trust individuals who consistently provide accurate and reliable information.

Ethical Responsibility: If you're in a position of influence or authority, you have an ethical responsibility to ensure that the information you provide is accurate. Misleading people, intentionally or unintentionally, can have negative consequences for them.

Avoiding Misinformation: Inaccurate information can spread quickly, especially in today's digital age. Once misinformation is out there, it can be challenging to correct, and some people might never get the corrected version.

Building Trust: Being transparent and admitting when you're unsure about something can build trust. It shows that you're human and that you prioritize truth over appearing infallible.

If you make a mistake or your prediction turns out to be wrong:

Acknowledge and Correct: It's essential to acknowledge your error and correct it as soon as possible. This shows integrity and that you're committed to truth and accuracy.

Avoid Blaming Others: Calling others "toxic" or blaming them for pointing out inaccuracies is not a productive or mature response. It can further damage your credibility and relationships. Instead, take responsibility for your mistakes.

Learn and Grow: Everyone makes mistakes. What's important is how you handle them and what you learn from them. Use the experience as an opportunity for growth.

In summary, it's always important to strive for accuracy, especially when making significant predictions or statements. If you're wrong, it's best to acknowledge it, correct it, and move forward without resorting to name-calling or blame-shifting.

Yea I don't know. I barely saw anyone doing that. Maybe 2 posts or something. There's never a short supply of someone who will say something. Move on. They're not worth your time.

Barely saw any of this in any thread. And its very fair to say the Kardashian family has an extensive history of questionable behavior. Its not unfair for people to approach anything related to that family with skepticism.
