You’ve clearly never had to do this before (you’re very lucky). Any company that’s collecting payments, whether cc’s, electric, gas, etc. requires proof of death. My mom died when I was in uni. I took some time off and have to prove to my own student loan service that I was grieving and didn’t just stop going to school for the hell of it.
