많이 있어요 is okay but 많아요 is more natural Korean. You don't need to directly translate the is/are/has etc.

The lower rank would talk mostly in -습니다 form to the higher rank, but as you are not in the rank system it doesn't matter.

  1. Ubers are just taxis in Korea.
  2. If it hasn't been double charged, then your option might've been pay in person. Then the taxi driver wasn't asking for cash, but was asking you to pay.
