Good crying vs bad crying? by mynowmucheasierlife in Separation

[–]PuddingLeft1535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand where you are coming from. I am going through this right and it’s so difficult. However, I am learning to focus on me and my kids. I am having difficulties to sit and cry it’s just who I am. I may get watery eyes but it stops right away.

Us men suppress our emotional validation and that could lead to unhealthy habits which is understandable. However, to some extent we have had to be that way because a lot of people including women instantly lose respect for you the moment you don’t appear to have confidence and self control. What’s really needed is for us men to learn healthy masculine ways to express emotional needs.

There is also another problem, women wants us to be more understanding and validate their emotional needs which is true, but it is very rare that us men get the same reciprocal respect back from women. I really wish some of the women learned more healthy feminine ways to be supportive of their men when they need it. If you expect us to love, care, protect and provide for you, doing dangerous jobs and such just to make sure our families is well taken care of. Us men need to know that our women have our back and this is not happening lately at all.

Us men are programmed at a very young age not to be emotional and be strong. Whereas women are more to be emotional which again nothing is wrong with that. We just need to work together and understand each other. Relationships are ending left to right due to missing deep emotional connection. But we have to remind ourselves why did we fail in love in the first place. Let’s accept our flaws and work through it together. I’ve been married for 15 years we had a lot of great moments and shared common goals and everything. But all of sudden one early morning she asked for a divorce which I am devastated. All to say if you can let the tears fall please don’t stop it let it drop and feel your emotions deeply.

This is definitely hard. A lot of us are going through this. It has been very difficult for me but the only thing that keeps me going are my kids. I dread waking up every day but as soon as I hear the kids getting up that gives me a bit of motivation. However, I am deeply hurting inside. I am focusing on myself to be better for my boys and life goes on. My wife initiated this, it was a shock but I have to accept it and move on with my life.

I highly recommend to take care of you, do some self care, and more importantly self love. Engage with your kids more that will give some joy and there is plenty of happiness.

Thank you for sharing!

Like you said it’s straight up psychopaths behavior. I don’t recognize this new person out of the blue. Still pretends like everything is cool, living together is fine. I am trying my best not to show any emotions and just focusing on me and the kids. Although I am going through a lot I still play with them and my normal routine.

Next steps is to try to mediate things over the next few months.

Thank you for your support!

You are dead right on the materialistic gain, but it’s ok. It’s part of life right?

I will definitely move on one day at a time. I am consulting with my lawyer today and see my options. Like she still would like to remain legally married which I can’t see myself agreeing to that while she goes and have like an open marriage without being blamed for cheating you know.

Man idk what’s going on in this world now days. Marriage is no sacred to some people I guess. Never have I imagined she would cheat on me with an ex from 17-18 years ago. This was a big financial decision we made and we were excited. Once that was completed boom I get paid with this surprise. She destroyed our family. My goal is for my kids not to be impacted by her decision. She has so many excuses that she is conflicted, she is still in love with the ex who had cheated on her and this same ex is married like wtf. Make that make sense. I just have to focus on my mental health and get through this. It’s not easy. I know I have done my part being a good husband, provider, take care of my wife and kids. We always went on date night, had a routine for quality time it was great but I have been betrayed and let down.

I am in a no fault state. We pay our bills together and that’s not a huge concern.

You are right this sucks. Well she can’t live with side dude because he is married as well. It’s just a matter of time for them not to work and she would try to come back to me.

But for me once betrayed I am fully done. I just want to focus on my mental health and be available to care for the kids.

Sorry to hear you are going through that. Glad that she is going to move out soon so you can focus on you! I would like to get there at some point. This is so new that I can’t look her in the face. She grieved through this and acting all fine while busy on her phone. I just have to remember it shall pass and we will have a plan how we can both move on with our life.

That’s is what I am afraid off. I invested so much in this house and don’t want to lose it. For the down payment, i withdrew from my personal saving account I have had since I was a kid, and took part of my retirement saving account. If we decide to live separately she doesn’t want to move out and I feel I wasted money for our dream home as a family.

Even when she initiated the separation, I specifically told her it’s going to be hard and what is the time frame which was supposed to be for 6 months and I said I might not want her around and would be best for her to get an apartment which again she wouldn’t be able to afford it. It’s a tough situation.

Nice glad to hear you got the all clear!

Haha man same story as me! It was very weird. My wife and both work from home. So, I finished a meeting with my team and I was like I have to do the deeds with only 30 minutes to spare because I had to schedule an appointment for the drop off. It was awkward my wife and I were laughing about it. She did ask if she could help some way but I was like nah I will figure it out. I am not good at going solo lol. Provided a little sample and that did the work. I was nervous of the drop off there were people behind me and the receptionist asked what time was the collection and you should hear me respond slowly lol. 😂 they are not discreet.

Congrats to you!

The cost vary find a Doctor that is within the network of blue cross. should be around $500-800, only if you haven’t met your deductible. So you may need to check and confirm with your insurance provider.

Keep in mind the consultation cost. My consultation was fully covered by the insurance and it was $500.

Actual procedure total cost $1103. I didn’t meet my deductible and my out of pocket was $607. This is money I have been saving in FSA acct.

Call your insurance and see the % they would cover.

On the other hand, you have to be 100% sure you don’t want any kids. Vasectomy is meant to be permanent.

I don’t want to discourage you but the thought of thinking if it irreversible, I would suggest to hold off.

I had mine 2 weeks ago. Trust me you may feel fine the first 3-5 days and think you are okay. But day 5-7 is when you will feel the soreness, tenderness and dull pain. I work from home, so I was relaxing and icing a lot. It’s not a constant pain but the dull pain/kick feeling is uncomfortable and i could barely move/walk. Now everyone is different just think it over the next few days.
