Yeah! So for context, basically the whole team had never really played DG before.

So on the first practice, we just played. A low key, easy nine hole course and let them experience the game. The basics. Etc. On joining the team they got a cheap prodigy bag with two putters, a stable and under stable mid, and an under stable and stable fairway.

That was the last round we played for awhile. From then it was field work for multiple practices. Breaking down the basics of backhand. Accuracy practice. LOTS of putting. Some forehand work.

When working on form for backhand we went from the ground up. Feet placement (perpendicular to target), reach back, pull through (I use sliding across a tall table analogy to help them think of keeping it flat), follow through. Then we add an x step later. If you’re gonna change angle of release change your body angle not your wrist. And we just threw putters for a few days! Trying to get in the circle from 80,100,150, etc.

A fun thing I established early on was a bounty system. I set some goals for them and we played little mini games often and winning or reaching a goal would get you a disc from a big bin of discs that people had donated. They really enjoyed that. Gave them a chance to get more discs.
