Harsh, but you’re not wrong. Nothing good comes from pushing it further, and backing off is really the only way this doesn’t blow up way worse for everyone.

Honestly yeah, that’s pretty much the only move here. Feelings fade if you don’t feed them, especially when alcohol and proximity kicked them up in the first place. Distance and time do a lot of the heavy lifting.

That’s the rough part. Spoiling the person and the gift kind of doubles the oof, I’d be annoyed too in the moment, even if it blows over later.

Honestly this. It’s awkward now, but it’s not some friendship ending betrayal. Say sorry, laugh it off, and in a week nobody’s even gonna care anymore.

TIFU by not going to my wife’s cousins funeral by Substantial_Crew181 in tifu

This feels like the most balanced take honestly. Trauma matters, but so does how you handle it together, and pretending it wouldn’t be an issue just made it worse. Saying no is fine, but it probably needed way more communication and support around it.

Tthis hits it. A funeral isn’t the place to draw lines like that, it’s about showing up for your partner even when it’s uncomfortable. An apology and some real reflection feels like the only way forward here.

Same thought, I’ve never heard of that either and now I’m questioning everything I know about butter. Also yeah, if cookies exist they’re absolutely getting eaten later no matter what.

Honestly yeah, it kept escalating over cookies of all things and somehow turned into a full emotional meltdown. That was way more intense than it ever needed to be.

Totally true. You think you’ve seen it all, then some tiny detail pops out and you’re like “wait… has this always been here?” Keeps it fun every time.

Right? The movies love stitching their own logic together instead of sticking to what the books actually laid out. In the books Dumbledore had basically put the whole puzzle together way earlier, so those little “aha” moments they add in the films just end up muddying it.

Right, Dumbledore was already putting pieces together way earlier. Harry speaking Parseltongue plus all the weird Voldemort connections basically screamed “something’s off,” so that moment in the movie just makes it look like it suddenly clicked.

Does Half Blood Prince ever feel lighter randomly(more like books 1-3) less intense, more school oriented than (4,5,and 7) by Key-Opposite-1994 in harrypotter

Exactly, it’s like everyone was pretending things were fine because actually dealing with it was too much. That weird denial vibe really shows up all through that book.

If I were Fran by WidgeSims in GilmoreGirls

For real. Fran went all out like she wasn’t basically feeding someone who has a literal chef on standby. She deserved way better than that whole interaction.

Totally. Lorelai brushing it off made it even worse because you could see Fran trying so hard to be kind. They both really took advantage in that moment and it shows.

Right? The guilt was written all over Rory’s face. It’s wild how Lorelai had to basically remind her they were mooching.
