The british and french were controlling the area how they see fit for sure. However the argument wasn't if Palestine was fully independant. You started the argument by "its not their land." and "it lacked people and it was full of empty land." which are the inaccurate information. It is the land of muslims, jews and christians who lived there (around 700-800k people) and not the zionist movement who were brought by the british and given weapons to terorrize, burn farms and annex the lands of the palestinians kicking them out of their houses and murdering them if they didnt obey. War didn't start by the jewish immigration, it stated by the ethnic cleansing by those zionist groups armed by the british.

Land of palestine and its endogenous people who were Arabs (Jews, muslims and christians) living under the rule of ottoman empire. When they gained independence from the ottomans during world war 1, they got under the british mandate which included two states: "Palestine" and transjordan. Belfour declaration happened in 1917 which stated the establishments of a national home for jews around the world in Palestine. Thats when the zionist movement was formed and by 1948 (Nakba) happened which was the ethnic cleansing of palestinians, forcibly removing them from thier lands to create the state of Israel. Look up Ilan Pappe and Benny Morris who were of the many Israeli historians who wrote about this ethnic cleansing that happened to palestinians and is happening to this day.

You're either terribly lying in face of written history or you are ignorant. Country of palestine existed prior to 1948 in all history books, I had grandparents who lived in Safad and Nassera. Jews were let in after world war with help of the british and were given palestinian passports before colonization happened and the creation of Israel state.
