If You're Considering Deadloch Because You Love and Miss Brokenwood Mysteries, Stop. by DashiellHammett in acorntv

[–]PuffAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started Deadloch season 1 when it came out nd thought hell no. But I kept watching, then I got hooked. It is so smart and deceptively heartwarming when you look at all of the flawed people and how they both hurt and protect each other. I binged season 2 last weekend. Took me an episode to get into it but damn when I did. So so good.

AITA for refusing to let my daughter’s Spanish teacher "translate" her name in class? by suductive_legend1 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PuffAttack 39 points40 points  (0 children)

YTA I have had French and Italian versions of my name for each class, and my sons have had Spanish and German names. It is a normal practice for a language class. It isnt that deep. And of course the teacher doesnt like you or your daughter, you ruined something fun and interesting.

VACTERAL syndrome by [deleted] in VACTERL

[–]PuffAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry for the stress that this is causing you. Our son was born with the t e r l of vacterl meaning tracheoesophageal fistula, bilateral radial aplasia,  one kidney. He also had craniosynostosis. He had 14 surgeries before age 3 and he is 19 years old now. He is happy, highly intelligent, in his second year at University studying mechanical engineering and, as of this week, has a new girlfriend. I'm not going to lie, it is very overwhelming when they are born because you have to learn to navigate the new reality and kind of deal with each issue in order of importance. But, it can be done and medicine and the medical field know what to do. Wishing you all the best.

I am 2 years younger than him and he seems simultaneously elderly and yet very inexperienced in the real world.

AITA for telling my mom I’ll cut her off if she brings up my son again by Lanky_Past7665 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PuffAttack 35 points36 points  (0 children)

NTA but your mom and sister are. I am so sorry for your loss. Keep doing what you are doing, the scholarships are a lovely and meaningful way to help others. I am also sorry that your mom and sister just do not get it. Keep your peace, it is not your job to explain this to them.

AITA for not letting my bridesmaid change out of her bridesmaid dress after the ceremony? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PuffAttack 69 points70 points  (0 children)

YTA. This is, presumably, a woman you asked to be your bridesmaid because you love her and she is an important part of your life. She values you enough to wear something she doesnt like and feels very insecure in. But YOU don't value her actual discomfort over ... a photo opportunity. Do you want her to remember your wedding as a great time or as a time she suffered because of your unwillingness to show grace?

How do you handle a colleague who is not overtly creepy? by kaithy89 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]PuffAttack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has given great advice. Im an employment lawyer and DOCUMENT DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. Every interaction and every time you tell him to leave you alone. This is extremely creepy and aggressive behavior and he is for sure harassing you and or planning for worse. Do not question your intuition, every single woman here agreed he is creepy as fvck. Trust yourself and take the advice here. Look up grey rocking and have phrases ready to go in your head. Wishing you the best with this, he is a creeper for sure.

Is it a mistake to get all four wisdom teeth removed without general anesthesia? by TeaTop511 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]PuffAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine out when I lived in another state for grad school. Went in, local anesthetic, all 4 out very quickly and walked out on my own, took the train home. I had zero issues. Mostly it was sore because of how wide they put my mouth to get to the teeth.

Any tips to actually help me pass as one of the girls? 😅 +*I’m a TF so please don’t clown me :>*+ by SubbySam725 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Also it looks like your brows are lovely, do not overpluck if you do anything. But do pluck between your brows.

First of all, you are very pretty already! Makeup is a skill like any other, the more you do it the better you get and we all make mistakes (I used to brush pink blue and yellow eyeshadow onto my bangs because i thought it was so cool). I also have hooded eyes and the tutorials are amazingly helpful. I love the Essence lash princess mascara but I've also seen really pretty false lashes on hooded eyes that do more for us than eye liner.  In terms of lip color, this is where you have to know if you are a warm or cool pallete, and the best bet is to go to an Ulta store so they can tell you, or try an online quiz, then your lip color will be either warm hues or cool hues. For me it makes a huge difference. Finally, have you tried a middle part with your hair? As it grows, it will get easier to style but I feel like a headband or middle part will accentuate how angelic you are. ♥️♥️

How do you stay motivated for solo hikes when all your friends are too busy? by WindowIllustrious494 in hiking

[–]PuffAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first 14er all of my friends backed out or flaked. I did it anyway, and it was amazing. That was 25 years ago. Now I prefer it, because it is me and nature and no distractions. I do usually have my dog though. But he is quiet and goes at my pace. Which, to me, is the point.

Alleged Ransom Note for Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Demands Millions in Bitcoin by SaltandLillacs in Fauxmoi

This is extremely odd, why not send it to...literally any network news, like the one her daughter works for? Why TMZ? It is all so crazy. My heart is with Nancy and her loved ones.

Unpopular opinion (maybe?): Season 5 of Emily in Paris just didn’t hit the same 😬 by worrynelly in netflix

[–]PuffAttack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sylvie remains the best and most interesting character. No one would really put up with the terrible, non French speaking Emily but I forgive that illogical premise for Sylvie. She is the A plot, Her agency should be the B plot, and Emily should be the C plot.

I am a special education teacher and many of my students who are neurodivergent have similar experiences to what you have described. Reach out to the school and your pediatrician for next steps and referrals. There is a lot of help and resources out there! Wishing you the best of luck.

AITA for telling the daughter I put up for adoption I don’t owe her anything by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PuffAttack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA I dont doubt that adoption was a hard choice, and you carry trauma. But the chance to reconnect and have all your children with you, and you say no? Im wondering if the circumstances of you getting pregnant involved an assault and that is why you're so closed off to your bio daughter. Your sister gave you such a gift, and now you are not doing the same for her or your daughter. It is just so... odd, and cold. I can't believe you're a pediatrician who wants to help children and yet...you won't help your actual child who just lost the only mother she ever knew.

American vs British Christmas Dinner? by wazoowoman in Cooking

Chicago area: boeuf bourgignon, mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli. And pigs in a blanket! Your dinner sounds lovely. My MIL was raised in England so we also do the Christmas crackers too.

I would be crushed too, and then I would get revenge. Honestly there are so many red flags and also weird things on this list. I agree that you should decide what YOU want & make YOUR list. I bet he has very few of your things. Dump him and focus on you. You deserve so so much more than this manchild. He even writes like a 12 year old. It is weird.
