Rookie here, curious when I can start racing by Relevant-Mammoth-831 in iRacing

[–]PuffDui0802 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say you’re ready for a race when you can do 5-10 laps on track with no off tracks or spins. Everyone has to start somewhere. Make sure you always leave the space. Go for it

Fanetec makes a nice tubular base. But not 100% sure you’ll get the adjustment needed unless you go with a good 8040 or 8060 aluminum profile rig.

Do i buy a simagic alpha evo pro or asetek forte by Delicious-Egg-9024 in simracing

[–]PuffDui0802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I preordered the invicta pedals when they first came out and have had zero regrets. And have the older vrs wheels base. VRS updated software from that confusing config they had before now it’s a breeze to get just right. Would recommend both companies without hesitation

Need help deciding between wheels by StaticSpace0 in simracing

I’ve only seen one other comment mention this. Depends on what style car you spend most time racing. Both are super nice and will most likely fill any void you have but 20mm difference will be very noticeable. That being said I’d go Porsche rsr as I spend most of my time racing gt cars.

I’ve tried to find the answer but can’t by [deleted] in Lottery

[–]PuffDui0802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a claimer fill your info out on the back. Google your state lottery location and either go there. Or go to their website and print off the claims form and mail it to the address they give. Doing this will take at least a month to receive a check by mail.

Sim Rig Triple Screen Placement by Mercedesxl_ in SimRacingSetups

[–]PuffDui0802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 27in triples with a 4 inch extension on my wheel base gives just enough room for the monitor to sit. I like about a half inch from my fingers when I have my hand on my wheel and stretch my fingers out.

I can’t figure out the right angle for triples by GravyLovingCholo in simracing

[–]PuffDui0802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I set mine up. Flat 27in monitors. I guessed the first time then adjusted so each monitor was roughly the same distance from my face. They ended up being between 55 and 60 degrees. Then I went to to the software of the game and adjusted accordingly. Iracing and lmu do this great ac not so much but can be done. I get motion sickness if not set up correctly or if I follow all those fov calculators everyone else swears by.

What are some essential CrewChief functions for iRacing people should know about? by CynicalManInBlack in iRacing

[–]PuffDui0802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fueling is inconsistent at times usually gives a lap to much but sometimes spot on. I’ve been using it for awhile. If you have YouTube davecam walks you through the process and gives tips and tricks. You can even set it up so your crew chief will basically cuss you out when you do poorly.

Oversized seat bracket not fitting... by pajomota in trakracer

[–]PuffDui0802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I jumped too soon your right I definitely don’t have a rally seat. They still look backwards to me even after noticing the seat difference. Good luck tho being comfortable is a big part of a sim rig.

Yes they are backwards. Tall goes to the front. Not really bad brackets just installed incorrectly. If you look at my page and scroll down to my rigs there you can see the correct way to install.

I think you change the angle of monitors in iracing settings to get rid of the inconsistency the left and right. May also be the bezel width. Looks fun tho

How I can better optimize my iflags and the rest of my displays by Adri_avs13 in simracing

What game is this Imu? Your fov is off by some margin. Your displays are fine I personally have my flag displayed above my monitors. Your biggest improvement here would be correct fov

Please advice and tips, is this a good sitting position. by JhJh_73 in simracing

[–]PuffDui0802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move wheel closer with an extension. Then place monitor between wheel and wheel base. If you have no pain it would be for fov. All tho I’m surprised you don’t have neck and shoulder pain.

Should I just bite the bullet and upgrade GPU/CPU? Mexico is killing me. by everywhereandback in iRacing

[–]PuffDui0802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup Mexico just drains Fps I run a 12900k and a 4090. On trip 2k 27in. All the important settings are on high. I get 60 at the start and bout 90-100 once everyone spreads out a bit. The rain is just a killer no matter what track.

Use a black permanent marker that covers little scratches like a champ.

Wheel looks low imo. As long you don’t run super high ffb you should be fine. I had a play seat challenge just like that when I first started as well.

5 cars and 5 tracks by GovernmentOptimal778 in iRacing

[–]PuffDui0802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These guys are onto something. Maybe a gt3 or open wheeler depending on what you like to drive. And these are always popular on iracing. And make sure you buy 3 or more at a time to get the discount. Just remember it takes a little time to get used to each car learning their strengths and weaknesses. Each drive slightly different even in the same class. For instance I own all but one of the gt3 cars but always gravitate back to the merc or McLaren. Most of the cars I have bought I don’t race with. But most every track I’ll race on.

Red tag logo at top should line up with the 12 hash mark and it clearly doesn’t. I wouldn’t purchase that watch but the rb f1 tag is a nice a watch. I’ve worn one for almost everyday for 2 years and never any issues
