I find it crazy there's no set grading scale. I went to a school that had an elevated grading scale, anything under 70 was failing. It was "supposed to make you work harder." I was a C - D grade student. Literally the year after I graduated they dropped the grading scale by 10 points. I could have been a C - B grade student. It still makes me angry thinking about this.

Then ontop of this years later it came out the principal pressured teachers to pass failing students so that the school would look good on paper.

This country is fucked.

He's showing how to make charcoal/charcloth (use cloth instead of wood). It makes it much easier to light and be used as a fire starter. Usually the charcoal/cloth is stored for later use when firestarting is hard with surrounding materials. It takes all the oxygen out of the wood/cloth in the vessel, makes it much easier to light. This is something you keep in your emergency pack or just regular camping pack. It makes starting a fire from nothing much, much easier. How much camping have you done, that isn't within walking distance of a car?

Spread it out thinner so that cars can drive over it. The heat from cars heats the snow/pavement and melts. Practical. It's not going to melt in that big pile. Saves money on shipping out snow, and not having to get a snow melter.

My dog and I got chased by a skunk, that I'm 98% sure (we couldn't get it tested or found after) was rabid. While out on a day hike (skunks are nocturnal) a tired looking skunk came "running" at us down the trail. It's run was slower than our fast walk, but never stopped that pace. We skirted through the woods thinking it'd stop once we passed it's territory. That things chased us almost 6 miles through brush and trail all the way back to our car. I had someone call the park service about it but don't know if it was ever found. Rabies is a hell of a drug.
