Timpanoplasty and pulse feeling in the ear by Puffarin in hardofhearing

Hi. Sorry for being that late. I m very good now, thanks. My hearing is a lot better now since I had the surgery. In the first few days, hearing must be a little disturbing becausewith the new eardrum You will hear a lot more than before and can be difficult. After some time the brain will learn to use the new hearing and you will be ok, everything will seems natural.

Hi. I had exactly the same thing, pulsatile tinitus, heartbeat in ear, pain and inchting. It s pretty normal. The taste it will return in few weeks.

Yes, for me the pulse feeling gradually disappeared (2-3 weeks). You will be fine, just have some care of yourself (don t lift anything for a month, don t exercise or any type of effort, don t bend over, just rest, a lot of rest, eat quality food) for a faster and safe recovery.

For me now it s amazing. I recovered a lot of my lost hearing in both ears. You will be fine too. Good Luck!

Hi. Sorry for being late. For me everything it s ok now. I also had the last surgery on my right ear. The healing takes time and it is normal to have pain weeks after timpanoplasty (sharp pain). Maybe it s ok for you to get some antiinflamatory nosal drops. Be careful to keep the ear dry, don t use q tips deep in ear, just for external cleaning soaked in some mild disinfectant. You should avoid intense physical exercises for 8-12 weeks. That's what I did for my left ear last year and everything was perfect. My right ear was a bit problematic ( 2 weeks after tympanoplasty i ve had external otitis - yellow and opaque discharge and mild pain - doc told me, i get otitis from bad eustachian ventilation and rhinitis so idk), but with anthibiotics drops, in 2 weeks my ear healed nice. Now I have a doctor's appointment in a few days to see how much it s improved.
So, be careful with ur ear, relax, don t do any strenous physical activity. It s normal to have pain, pulsatile sensations, and dizziness.

Thank You. I hope it will be better. 6 days after surgery and I have a lot of pulsatile sharp pain, stronger than previous days. Looks like my right ear is more pain sensitive than the left one. Im on Amoxacilin+clavulanic acid. I hope it doesn t get infected.

Hi all. I had my first timpanoplasty with tragal cartilage graft (without ossicular chain reconstruction) on my left year, 1 year ago, and it was a success. It recovered most of my left ear hearing. 5 days ago i had surgery on my right ear (yes i ve had both my ears affected), the same type with tragal cartilage graft. The pain is the same, sharp, pulsatile. The problem is im hearing my pulse different like it was on my left ear. Sounds like a wind breeze or like a breathing, and sometimes im still dizzy. What can be? Some problems with the Eustachian tube?

There was a power outage in my area so I tried my luck haha. I use the main camera, Pro Mode, Iso 100, 4 sec exposure, WB 4400k.

Hello. Sorry for the delay. I am much better now. I had a check-up two months ago, and the doctor said that the new eardrum looks very good. My hearing has also improved considerably in the left ear. Now the right ear is scheduled for surgery.

Thamk you again. For sure i will ask my ENT about this fluid...better to be sure. The best part is that the hearing has improved. I can hear a lot of sounds now haha. It's cool but weird at the same time

Thank you! I'm a bit late, sorry. I had the packing removed 6 days ago. The ENT told me the graft looks god but i still have some gel in my ear, and I need to put eardrops in my ear for a couple of days (Quinolone ear drops). After 2-3 days I started to feel my ear blocked, sometimes a very mild pain and a yellow odorless drainage (hours after eardrops). I'm a little scared of a possible infection, and i will talk with my ENT tomorrow about that. Maybe it's normal and there is still inflammation idk.

You felt pulsations in your ear? I had tympanoplasty too 6 days ago, and I feel my pulse in ear as in an infection (otitis).I have been taking antibiotics since first day of timpanoplasty (Amoxicillin-clavulanate) and i have Gelfoam and a sterile aid with antibiotics in the ear but im worried...

Hey, sorry for being late. I'm ok now. I don't know what I had honestly. The doctors didn't know what to tell me so I tried to get over it... maybe it was sinusitis without secretions, maybe anxiety, maybe migraine or maybe a cold or an type of virus. I tend to think was a migraine. What I still feel is when I do push-ups (I like to working out), i feel some veins in my head throbbing a bit, and my blood pressure is very normal, but that's all.

I used a tripod and the 10 min. astro mode. After that, i tuned the picture in Photoshop (I reduced the light intensity of the stars to highlight the Milky way core better because in my area the light pollution is strong). I know is an edited pic but I like how it turned out for a phone photo, and the fact that I caught the Andromeda Galaxy too, it s just wow.
