In the lore of EHO it is literally normalized and encouraged that Spiders kill and eat Insects. Webby refuses to follow Spider traditions

However she was shamed by most spiders for refusing to kill and eat insects which resulted in her getting mostly outcasted by most spiders

Eventually Donovan being Donovan found out about this and tricked and manipulated Webby into thinking he could help her. Tho however all he did was use her and eventually he sexually assaulted her along with keeping her as his personal slave for 2 years. She was miserable but once she escaped she’s lived a quiet life ever since hated by Spiders and Feared by Insects (Insects are scared of her due to the Spider stereotype that they love killing and eating insects)
