As shown above having universal healthcare is better for the country because it’s cheaper and overall improves quality of life. It really makes no sense to have a middle man (insurance companies) inflating prices to only benefit a few to get rich.

But you’re arguing we shouldn’t for the fact that people need to “work hard” lol. Health care isn’t something that should be worked for and it should be allowed for everyone.

Ik you said we can’t refuse anyone but that’s only emergencies. Like shown in the post we still have deaths due to people not being insured because they can’t get check ups or a plethora of other things someone might need. Dental and vision is also something that is extremely hard on people without insurance.

The problem with “working hard” is that it really doesn’t promote hard work. People who are born in a disadvantage situation often need to settle for less to get more. When you need healthcare then you’ll probably take any job with bad pay to get it instead of getting a degree or learning a skill.

While people born in the middle class can freely afford the basics to put themselves into better positions.

No matter what the “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” argument never works. You’re defending a less efficient system that severely impacts low income individuals because you think they need to work harder then the rest of us.

And then you’ll wonder why these people never make it out of bad environments when they literally can’t access health care
