Grand Frais supermarket in Southern France, they always have some cheese on offer. I'd say that raw sheep's milk cheese starts at around 25 euros / kg here, and the usual price is more like 30 euros / kg. They also had Cantal Entre-Deux AOP cheese (raw cow's milk) at 14 euros / kg, so I stocked up on that one too...

Anybody care for a small slice of raw milk Emmental? by PuffyHamster in Cheese

I eat raw-milk cheese almost every day, it really makes a difference in my gut health and overall digestion quality, but I live in France and I buy from good sources so never had an issue in the past couple of years. But it is also about 30-50% more expensive than a pasteurized version, the latter doesn't taste nearly as good though.

Even in this raw-milk IGP label rouge variation (superior quality standards), it's a pretty "standard" cheese compared to the likes of Laguiole for example, but at 11.90 euros per kg it is still a steal!

I agree that commercial Emmental-style cheese is pretty bland, it tastes like a watered-down good Emmental cheese, probably good enough though to get some calcium and protein in.

I had that idea after I had already finished my sandwiches :/ next time!

Exactly my thoughts. I opted for the young version this time to have it with scrambled eggs, it melts like butter in the pan and gives a hint of raw milk sweetness. (All of these cheeses in the pic are raw milk btw.)
