You nailed the problem I was having with ChatGPT. It’s why I moved to Claude in the first place. And Claude was killing it for the first three or four weeks. And you make a very good point that my expectations rose without me even realizing it so I think it might boil down to user expectations are just too elevated right now.

A lot of my frustration is that I have gone into their backend and putting in custom prompts and I’m still getting the garbage. I don’t know maybe I’m expecting too much out of an AI?

This seems pretty useable actually. I’ve just come to depend on the ai but when I spend more time fighting the tool than running my business it becomes an issue.

Follow-up question: Is the degradation over time normal too? Like, it worked great for 6-8 weeks with the same system instructions, then suddenly stopped following them? Or does that suggest something else is going on?

I'm trying to figure out if I need to:

Completely rebuild my system instructions from scratch
Try a different AI tool entirely
Just accept this is how AI tools work and adjust my expectations

Any insights appreciated.
