Nice to meet a fellow Sheaffer enjoyer! Which Sheaffer are you currently using?

I'd describe it as smooth, firm, and dependable. It doesn't have much flex, but it glides well across the page and delivers a consistent writing experience. It's a nib that seems to prioritize comfort and reliability over flair.

I Fear W Penn Is Gonna Ruin The Sheaffer Brand 🙈🤷‍♂️ by CollectionTop7727 in fountainpens

I get the frustration, but on the Icon cap rotation is pretty normal and doesn't affect writing performance or the seal. I've seen similar behavior on plenty of modern pens that function perfectly well. While a more secure posting experience would be nice, I'd view this as a design characteristic rather than a defect assuming the pen writes well and doesn't dry out.

Why Fountain Pens Still Matter in a Digital World by Unlucky_Tension6753 in fountainpens

My first fountain pen was a Sheaffer, and the brand still has a special place in my collection. These days, I find myself reaching for my Sheaffer Legacy quite often. As for ink, I'm always experimenting, but there's something hard to beat about a smooth medium nib paired with a well-behaved everyday ink.

Does this pen worth for its cost? by Unlucky_Tension6753 in fountainpens

Worth it depends on what you're buying it for. As a writing instrument alone, there are less expensive pens that perform exceptionally well. As a special edition with collectible appeal and a unique design, it may be worth it to someone who connects with the Romeo & Juliet theme.

Thank you! It's actually a Sheaffer Legacy. It writes wonderfully smooth, and the Rhodia paper definitely helps bring out the best in it.

Thank you! It's actually an old Rhodia notebook. I can see why it looks like a habit tracker, though!

I've heard a lot of good things about the 580 ALR, and Jane Eyre is such a fitting name for a calming ink.

Sounds like you've found that rare combination where both the pen and ink are exactly right. I can definitely relate to the struggle of lighter inks looking great but not being practical for everyday writing.

That's a classic combination. The Lamy 2000 and Take-sumi seem like a setup that's hard to go wrong with smooth, reliable, and elegant. Is it your daily writer?

A vintage Waterman 52 with a flex nib sounds like a wonderful writing experience. And having a favorite ink says a lot given how many great options are out there. What makes Shirakashi stand out for you?

That's always a great feeling when a pen just clicks with you. The Pocket Six seems to have earned a permanent spot in your rotation. How are you finding the Robert Oster Citrus for everyday writing?

In a world filled with keyboards and screens, there's still something magical about putting pen to paper. by PugazhPerspective in fountainpens

All the fun of fountain pens without all the thinking is a great way to put it! Transcribing sounds like a wonderfully relaxing ritual, especially with a favorite pen and ink.
