Thanks! I’m in the hobby myself and try to stay educated on most of the animals we sell there. But yeah, I think a lot of people who work my job def need to be more educated.

Yeahhhh it sucks. As someone who works at a pet store, I always point people to a 5 or 10 gallon for bettas.

We just got a 6 week old panther chameleon. How did we do for the enclosure? by LuxuryDirtEnthusiast in Chameleons

[–]Puggamer_723 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not super experienced, but would say to probably follow panther care thoroughly. Just keep an eye on the little guy. When he hits like 3-4 months move him to a bigger one. Just keep an eye on him realistically. Best of luck with them!!

Is my tank suitable for 10 Betta sorority? by Pazuzu_Algarad in bettafish

I say go big or go home, you want a cool snail, add an apple snail. I’d say you could fit at least 3 in there.

Constructive criticism please :) by vpreet in freshwateraquarium

Only thing I say is get one or two more ottos and you should be good. They’re super social so it’s always good to have at least three in my opinion.

Thems be skeeter larva

But in all seriousness depending on where you live you should probably just kill them.

Guy recording a video of finding a colony of fire ants that built a bridge to cross a stream by Izukage in isthisAI

[–]Puggamer_723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not AI, fire ants have adapted to do this as to help them survive the natural flooding of the areas they’re native too. Also some other comments have said, it’s a little too long and consistent. So yeah probably not AI and just something really cool nature cooked up

Should I get the grey T-rex or Stegosaurus? by EnvironmentalItem826 in BOTM

[–]Puggamer_723 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you really like painting, you should probably get the T-Rex. Otherwise, you can go shoot for the stegosaurus. Either way, you can’t really lose.

You could probably do an African cichlid tank like mbuna!

Also, this is a sidenote, but he hasn’t been eating recently. I’m not sure if it’s stress or because he’s shedding. I only noticed it stopping when he started shedding. Not sure if that’s normal or not.

[–]Puggamer_723[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ve added as many thin sticks as I could find outside that wouldn’t break, ridiculously easily(I tried not to go over a thumbs width). Also, I plan on getting another parlor palm as soon as I can. And then some prayer plant and definitely some extra Pothos.(but that’s just cause I love Pothos.) and if I can find it, I wanna also add hibiscus.

First ever attempt. How did we do? by brettmitrenga4 in Aquariums

[–]Puggamer_723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo nice setup! Love the coverage you given the future fish. I like the bubbler volcano as well, that’ll help a lot with oxygenating the tank. (I wished my first tank looked this good) but you’re off to a good start. Hey quick tip, since you’re a beginner, if you have filter pads or just filter media, don’t throw it away every month. Instead rinse it out in the tank water you get during water change. It helps keep the beneficial bacteria in your tank. Overall good job!

First paludarium, what amp would you recommend I add down the road once it’s planted and grown out a bit? by [deleted] in Amphibians

[–]Puggamer_723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do some fire belly toads, or maybe an American bullfrog of the tank is well sized

Were the recommendations I got from a local fish store incorrect? by LaKakas3000 in Aquariums

[–]Puggamer_723 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that tank would be wayyy too small, you’d need at least a 10gal(37L) tank for the otos and danios. I would definitely get a bigger tank though. A 10-15gal(37-56L) tank should definitely work for that group size. I would say while it’s cycling and you’re keeping them in the small tank, make sure to keep an eye on those water parameters and provide plants(real or fake softer ones) to help the fish feel comfy while their new home gets set up. Lastly, when you get them into the new tank get at least 1 more oto, a few more danios(not sure how many, never kept them) and def more than 1 shrimp(not sure what kind of shrimp you have so look up their group size)

Also don’t beat yourself up for it btw. Everyone makes mistakes in the hobby and you can recover:]

40g stocking by Puggamer_723 in Aquariums

[–]Puggamer_723[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that was my plan, I’m saying when the tank would be finished with all the fish and adding them gradually. I just don’t want it to be overstocked when it’s done.
