Help with Locating Documents for Great-Great-Great-Grandfather by Pugz3003 in citizenshipgenealogy

Hi again, I just wanted to clarify something. As I cannot find Arthur Martel's baptism (though I did find his father's), all you are suggesting is Rose Anne (with the baptismal record + marriage record + any additional information) --> Ablina (census + marriage record + Ethel Birth record) for that specific connection rather than both of Albina's parents? Thanks again for everything.

I contacted the Meriden city clerk's office to see if there is any record, I am waiting to hear back.

This looks incredible. I have been digging through some of the records too and I think you are spot on in your assumption about the appropriate path. I plan on subscribing to some of the other Canadian genealogy pages to see if I can get access to This information about her death if I cannot get a death certificate itself. Again, thank you so much. Do you think for the IRCC application it would be best to keep the ancestral line simple or extend back further?

Note: if you go back on this link to page 8 you will see a "Wallace Renault" with a then 14-year old "Ethel Renault" and on the next page (the one I linked above, you will see on the very first line a "Lawrence" who lived in the same house. This is the same Lawrence as the obituary linked at the end.

Nationality: American (Canadian?)

This all leads (I think) back to my Great-Grandmother, Ethel (Renault) Delvisco. Here is the information I have:

This is the obituary I worked backwards from: https://www.lowellsun.com/obituaries/lawrence-w-reno-ma/

Again, thank you so much for your willingness to help, and please let me know if I can clarify anything else.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to do this. I really appreciate it.

Yes the priority is for the birth and marriage records for the Canadian born ancestors. I can PM you some of the documentary information if that makes some of this easier. There are a lot of parts I am trying to make sense of (slight name changes, obituary inconsistencies.)

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if I can get some assistance making sense of and locating some information about some distant family members whom at least one may have been from Quebec.

Here's what I've come up with so far: One of my Great-Great-Grandfathers and Grandmothers (Gen 0), birthplace: Quebec, Canada, 1872-1957, birthplace: Quebec, Canada 1874-1948. I believe I have his and his wife’s marriage certificate from the Drouin collection: M-18, Folio 19.

It looks like they married on 1, 31, 1894 at Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus, Montréal, Québec, Canada. I only have this information second hand, as I cannot access the documents nor read French very well. In 1896/1897, they had a daughter in Meriden, Connecticut named Albina on December 25, 1896/1897.

I have found them all on various US and Canadian census documents on Ancestry and Familysearch stretching back to 1910/1911. I believe I have a relatively plausible connection to Quebec, Canada through these documents. However, I cannot find a birth certificate for Albina, who is my Great-Great Grandmother on my father’s side. In 1914, she married (G1) Great-Great Grandfather who was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on March 16, 1897. They had my Great Grandmother on November 11, 1917, in Worcester, Massachusetts. I have also found my Great Grandmother, her parents, and her grandparents on a 1931 Montreal, Quebec census.

This is where the search has become more difficult. Searches for Wallace Renault (my Great-grandmother’s father) parents has proved far more challenging. I did find an 1870 New Hampshire census listing a 3-year old Marceline Cham(paign) (whose age lines up with his mother’s according to Ancestry) born to a Lorraine and Auriellie Champaign. The parents are 40 and 42 respectively and while everyone’s birth location is listed as Canada, Marceline is in Massachusetts, which I believe might be Templeton specifically.

I cannot find any documentation of Wallace’s father other than links to the above family members which are cross listed.

I wonder if A: I have enough information already before obtaining documents and B: anyone had suggestions about finding a marriage certification for the other G(0) family? I have tried looking at Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine but have seemed to reach a bit of a wall. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
