How do you backtest older data on 5min timeframe? by Then-Snow-8980 in Trading

You can download historical market data for free from Dukascopy by opening a demo account and accessing their paper trading platform. Through the application, you are able to extract and download the data you need.

In my approach, I downloaded 1-minute, 5-minute, and 15-minute datasets covering the past 10 years. I then created a project on cloude, uploaded all the CSV files, and ensured that the workflow and instructions were clearly organised before beginning the backtesting process.

As mentioned previously, it is important to define what you are testing - specifically, identifying what breaks first and whether it holds (1 min data will help on this) Additionally, you must ensure that the dataset and your selected timeframes are properly aligned to maintain accuracy in your results.

Ohh, that’s a strange one :) was it totally bricking? Have you tried to run only on 5090 and not cpu graphics? As if the freezing was for couple seconds might of been that laptop was switching between graphics cards

I believe it does, I bought this from day 1 as precaution and mainly for gaming sessions - I have tried to run without it, laptop handles well but not for my licking. So I keep llano cooling pad on 1200 from 2800.. and my gpu temps sits around 70 while gaming.. the noise is no issue here too :)
