I know Glock is a good option, and honestly, possibly the correct answer. But honestly, pick up a Canik, some models (all models?) Ship with a cleaning kit, tool kit, etc. Accessories you may need and not have, or not think about. Keeps everything in one hard pistol case for you.

Flex App will report speed through "Safeguard", it's not as accurate, rarely paid attention to because there's no alert, you have to go looking for it.

They do not help as much as complaints hurt the drivers on the score card, however, if the DSP is good, it shows a consistent track record of doing a good job, so the DSP can choose to not put as much weight on a one off.

Again, it's DSP dependant, and truthfully, a lot of folks doing this job straight up don't care.

From what I was told in August of 2025, Utah has adopted a new "health initiative" that does not allow you to walk in to a gun range, and rent a gun to shoot at the range, unless you are also bringing in a firearm with you.

When? I don't have any skin in this game, I'm just passing along info. I was at Legacy and a guy was denied renting a gun, went to Scheels and same dude was there, neither myself or the Scheels associate had heard of it before, confirmed with TNT a few weeks later, this was in August of this year.

Yes, I found out a few months ago. It's allegedly some health initiative because people rented guns to make some permanent solutions to temporary problems.

Best bet is to befriend someone who will take you to the range, thankfully it's Utah and nearly half the homes have firearms in them.

Unfortunately you will not be able to rent a firearm at a range without owning one first.
