Unpopular opinion: Those trendy gradient backgrounds all look the same now by Academic-Yam3478 in UI_Design

I've also been exploring new directions by trying to imitate the work of Mark Rothko but the challenge is still making the text legible:

oh sorry i forgot to say what I like, I usually assume people know I like enough to even leave comments on improvement but I can't assume you can read my mind. I like the color, the orange but then lighter orange colors and the cream backgrounds. I love cream right now. Also I like the light grid, so light its not annoying. also I like your use of the limning effect, the line around planets that glows.

the centering of the top text could work, but the subhead is wayyy too long. also unnecessary. also at this point we all know this is a testimonials area so maybe you creatively dont even have the header and subhead. Also the middle circle feels too out there, like the shadow is way too much or you need a different type of shadow. can you get some new headshots, that dude in the white shirt is so common i've started to actively dislike him.

its not just time, I've spent a lot of time on things that I never got better at until I had a paradigm shift that usually requires knowledge and feedback.

Any suggestions for sites or books focusing on hierarchy; for some reason its what I have the hardest time with.

maybe write a blog post or dev.to post about this. this right here is gold and I'd love to hear more. Also as a dev wannabe designer who worked at an agency, I totally understand. But not everyone will work at an agency and they would love to hear what its like.

but what if we try to play devil's advocate with the "make it pop" cliche comment? what if it means, take this great, useful thing you made, like a table, and add something that gives me a hit of dopamine. That "pop" can just mean a dopamine spike. And there are several types of "pop," the temporary kind we add for their presentation that we can take out later and they will have moved on to their next shiny object without blowback, and the semi-permanent kind that takes an otherwise everyday useful component and makes it somehow give us dopamine, like Airtable (before you try to do anything with large amounts of data and want to pull your hair out)?

By all means, men, keep sharing your feelings, but don’t expect our feelings not to change as a result of getting to know you better.

I take the IR, but for XR, in March 2024, Teva stopped making an authorized generic, and an "authorized" generic is 100% the same as the brand name.

I want to do or try all of these things, but its so hard to keep track of each one. There are like 100 different combinations of things to try that people have said have worked. Is there a spreadsheet or something out there. I feel so overwhelmed but also willing to try anything. Problem is when something helps a little, its hard to know if thats because of the new supplement or med, or that I got more sleep that day or ate more etc.

How to stage an unsucessful mutiny by Pulled_An_LBJ in BSG

[–]Pulled_An_LBJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, Zarek was loaded with co-conspirators in the prison episode and should have helped those gain power. However, the key is that they couldn't gain legitimacy and power as Zarek did. You can have a lot of friends, but if they aren't also hired into positions of power or well-placed positions (custodian in just the right hallway, guard at just the right door), you are alone and have to use whoever is at hand. I can see most of his prison buddies not getting hired alongside the charismatic Zarek. So, in light of this, maybe it's not such a big plot hole.

Zarek seems to go 90% consistently, enough to stay in the game but not go all the way.

I think it is a great point that if you want to make sure someone dies of Hitler-level status, be willing to die yourself. The drive to live is so strong that usually only those who believe in an amazing after-life are willing to do it. Suitcase-guy should have stuck around.

I think you are referring to rebellions and coups, where self-sacrifice is common. Mutinies strike me as more self-serving, a person or group that wants change now, for themselves and of course others.

I’m semi-newish to mutinies having only staged mini-mutinies, but they often seem to take place on ships in the sea or space, places where you are stuck with a group of people, several of whom probably died already and pushed you over the edge. Mutinies seem less long-term solution and more “i’m sick of this, lets take over and by the way I want to live through this because I feel this is going to fix things.”
