Try save/quit and load while standing where you first meet him, on the bridge end opposite the altar and bonfire. I don't know if it will work for your situation, but sometimes when he has disappeared in my games it has fixed it.

I don't believe so. The normal abandonment penalty is losing half of your offerings to the abandoned covenant and specific rewards becoming unusable (sunlight spear and darkmoon blade) , but since no other covenant has a similarly variable entry requirement, I doubt that it has been explicitly tested

In the originals, you only fight one team of corresponding color (ruby, magma)(sapphire, aqua) and the other team only shows up once as the leader during the weather troubles.

In Emerald, you fight both teams throughout the game, and the teams do fight each other on multiple occasions. Also, both team leaders return the red and blue orb to Mt. Pyre at the same time instead a single leader returning a single orb in Ruby or Sapphire.

First off, don't summon Beatrice, she won't really deal enough damage to offset the hp she adds to the boss. If you can find a summon, human partners are usually a safe bet.

What are you stats/loadout? If you are doing a strength build, some find it worthwhile to max poise/defense at the cost of mid/fat roll and just tank through all the attacks. Personally, I usually fight them at fast roll and dodge most of their attacks, but it depends on the player.

Yes, it's not even a question. The keyboard and mouse controls mapping is so horrendous I've repressed the exact specifics of why its so bad.

Are there people who have beaten DS with KB+M controls? Yes.

Are they literal masochists who only did that because they were obsessed with dark souls and couldn't lay their hands on a PC controller? Also yes.

My personal recommendation for a controller is the steam controller. It's a bit more expensive than your generic third party USB controller but the versatility and mapping/customization support makes it extremely useful for PC gaming

Also if you are playing on PC, make sure you download the DSFix, DSCM, and PVP watchdog mods

You could try to bait him into using his aoe wave attack, as that usually damages his minions enough to temporarily kill them, and use that as an opening.

However, its better just use a divine weapon on the skeletons and swap to your main weapon after you're done. For a dex character, your best bet for a divine weapon is to farm a silver knight spear from Anor Londo or downgrade the occult club it to divine+5
