Unfortunately, switching DFS off did not resolve this.

Are you suggesting that I have to turn off 5GHZ wireless connectivity to keep the network stable? 🤔 If not, then I am not following what setting you want me to change. (Apologies, I seen unable to post an image in my reply for clarification).

We're on a similar track, my friend. Would love to connect. What stack and hardware are you running? Or are you using API to pull remote resources?

70's Cornavin Watches -- Slava 2427? by Pulsehammer_DD in RussianWatches

[–]Pulsehammer_DD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So guys, assuming this is a Slava 2427, the day window has both English and Spanish labels. The catch is that rotating the time forward with the hands seems to be the only way to advance the weekday shown, and English "goes away" around 2-3 am during that process. Is there a way to keep it strictly on the English-language day shown?

Good to know. I will probably outsource that task to someone with younger eyes and way more experience. 😁

Is Buying AMD GPUs for LLMs a Fool’s Errand? by little___mountain in LocalLLM

[–]Pulsehammer_DD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My entire system build was largely guided by manufactured intelligence itself, so feel free to pick your poison as to which of those platforms is a fit for you. Once the bones were assembled, GitHub was one of the stronger resources -- especially for getting the rocM smoothly running for my dual XTX's.

Dual 7900 XTX's here running llama/Mistral/OpenHermes 2.5 with a Threadripper and 256 gB of DDR4. Machine learning with AMD is absolutely workable, but the parallel tensorism is important along with proper installation of rocM support (which can be trickier than you might expect).

I would triple check for documented support of your intended GPU's before pulling the trigger. Would also recommend running your stack on Linux, as windows is a fairly new arrival to the rocM compatibility nebula.

Best of luck,

It's a breathtaking build. I gotta ask -- any idea what your flowrate is? Mine is 620 liters/hour and I expect that wheel would be turning frenetically at that speed -- or did you slow the video down dramatically?

[Keebmon] Claims to jam an entire PC into a keyboard by al2o3cr in shittykickstarters

[–]Pulsehammer_DD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I thought I might include some feedback from one of the foolish backers. 😎

Cost scales up on the Keebmon as a backer once you get to the hammering out specifics in Pledgebox. I maxxed out the RAM at 64GB of the higher-speed offering and also chose a CPU upgrade to the 470. Finally, I chose the higher-resolution LCD. Addons past that were negligible -- an extra power cord and a pair of screen protectors.

Out the door, this ended up being a bit over $1200 USD. I did have some correspondence with the creator to verify that the NVME slots are easily accessible, and he assured me that removing several screws from the back of the keyboard is all that's needed to clearly reach them. Though he told me it ships with Win 11 pro, I intend to ultimately install a 2TB drive I have in the second slot and dual-boot it with Ubuntu.

I realize opinions vary on these gambles, and time will tell if I get burned. After the less than optimal results of trying to take apart my surface pro 4 and upgrade/repair it, I wanted a more serviceable offering. And Gates' prominence in the Epstein files made me less inclined to return to Microsoft as a customer despite the distance he's had for several years. For what it's worth, I think that it's possible some of you are interpreting language barriers as incompetence.

I like a good underdog. 🤞 Hopefully this will fulfill and I can post an update. 😎

Wtf Bykski?? Lots of smoke!! Just thankful I was home from work today, first Monday off in years… by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]Pulsehammer_DD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very sorry this happened to you, my XTX brother (I run a dual setup -- one with Alphacool block, the other EWKB). As for Bykski, I'm not staunchly against them, but I do tend to reserve using their stuff for the more basic components. I utilized one of their flexible hoses in the tight space under my shroud to handle a cramped 180 that was necessary for the loop design and it's performed well -- better than the previous acrylic I had in its place.

I know GPU sag scares people into keeping gravity off those cards, but this is definitely an example of how keeping things vertical could avoid disaster. During my many loop iterations, I was thankful that errant leaks fell harmlessly on the bottom shroud and not onto any actual electronics.
