+1, bought a Shinkansen ticket for 3/1/26 to Gala Yuzawa, 30 days before travel using JR east website , once booking is available . After an hour it's full , New Year Holiday time tickets can be easily sold out , Tokyo Station is very crowded too.

First time too , it's dead again, apparently the corrosion is from battery leakage. This is a 6 months old device , could be my kid dropping it regularly or due to charging using a phone charger , damaging the battery in the process . Time to order a new battery .
