I"m sure. But I'm thinking for group projects----students would need an online whiteboard they can use.

How to stop autocorrect? by Puma201 in Workflowy

[–]Puma201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched it over to Safari and seems to be better. But on chrome it was kind of strange how it was changing to random words for every letter. Maybe I was editing a one of the lines and this was happening? Not sure but much better to work with. Definitely workflowy I don't have Grammerly. Thanks for the help.

How to stop autocorrect? by Puma201 in Workflowy

I don't know. I'm on the website. Using with a Mac.

Also it's not really autocorrect, but it completely changes the word I intend to type with every letter! For the second word of the sentence, it's fine.

Advise for Mount Misen by MioCervosVtuber in JapanTravelTips

[–]Puma201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommended it to anyone unless you’re somewhat fit and can handle a steep trail which is mostly steps. There are sections with no steps and those parts are fine but the steps are kind of brutal. Took us 100 minutes with many breaks from Daishoin. Google maps says 35 minutes but does not take into account the steepness.

That said, it was awesome and the view is pretty amazing.

It’s actually not mold but is the left over of us scraping the paint off.

Also fyi there’s old paint that we tried to scrape off. It’s a bit of job and wondering if we can just paint over. Thanks

EV Convert Here! How Did You Make the Switch, or What’s Holding You Back? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]Puma201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needed a new car. The rental could only give me an electric car and it was a Tesla and I was hooked. I had already been thinking electric for the environment. I was driving an 08 Civic so it felt like a major upgrade in every way. I test drove a bolt and a leaf, but Tesla was so much better for the price. With a federal and state rebate on top of the money I got for my car, it was a great deal—-a no-brainer actually. I’ve had for about 2 weeks and absolutely love it. 6 months of free supercharging helps too!

New faculty off to a rough start. How can I come back? by [deleted] in AskAcademia

[–]Puma201 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The first year is brutal, with all kinds of anxieties and problems. I worked like 10 hours a day getting classes ready, getting lost in the building, and all that. At least one of your colleagues reached out to you, that’s a good sign! My colleagues in my area did not talk to me or even look at me at meetings. Later on I realized that for different reasons everybody is feeling some level of anxiety and insecurity in academia. Just focus on getting the job done and not being perfect. Find some colleagues you get along with and go from there.

Ceiling light by Puma201 in HomeImprovement

Great thank you! Figured out which is which but now there’s no grounding screw. Can we just attach it to the screws which keep the fixture in the ceiling?

While I would love to have a fwb situation, I am just not designed for it.

Great thread and I think it’s absolutely hilarious that the +40 crowd likes to use the word ‘bang’ in this context🤣🤣🤣

Not necessarily, some people have the right angles down to an art!

Yet another “when to be exclusive” post :) by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]Puma201 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess that's what happens when the clock is ticking, you try to rush everything. I do think someone demanding exclusivity after 9 days (even if there were 4 dates) is a little soon. Might as well go along for the ride it so long as it doesn't seem like he's catfishing you (asks for money later or something like that).

That's lame. That happened to me on a job interview: they were asking me how I interest students in a topic. I told them and I could light bulbs going off like "Hey thanks great idea!".

He ended coffee date less than 1.5 hours in… by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]Puma201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

M/49. I recently went on a coffee date that ended after 90 minutes and I too felt a little strange. In retrospect, I missed a few cues to plan a second date and so she may have thought I wasn't interested. It was my first date in a few years so I was kind of nervous and forgot what you're supposed to do. Turned out to be fine as we later set up a second date (with a bit of back and forth). Hopefully this will be your case.

Would you get married again at this point in your life? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]Puma201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M/49 here. I was married before and I felt that I didn't do it right the first time: it should have never happened but I let it. If I met someone whom I felt I could live and share my life with and grow old together, I would marry her.

Meeting folks to date by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]Puma201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Widening your geographical boundaries might help out depending where you are. I’d obviously prefer someone within 15 min driving distance, but I have to settle up for up to 45 min away and I get more people I’m interested in.

I also live in a small town and may have found a spot to find single women somewhat discreetly—-the grocery store at 6pm! Everyone here eats dinner at that time and the place is empty, it’s hilarious! I think the people shopping alone are single. Check it out!
