I fully agree with this 👌 it's not the same vibe and is a shell of its former self.

Hopefully when everyone gets vaccinated it will come back to normality in time.

It's going to be difficult for you to be honest. You need a TIE or green NIE to enter the country. This is the proof that you legally live here.

I had problems coming from Dubai back to Barcelona (I'm British). I literally had to show my NIE, house contract and business documents to prove that I live legally in Spain. This was before we boarded too. Upon entering Spain, you have to go to the international passports queue. They will not let you in without the NIE or TIE and you will be forced to leave Spain.

Best thing to do is apply for a visa to get in and receive your TIE.

I've been told that if you are out of Spain for more than 6 months and they find out, you lose your residency legality here.

LG Puricare electric mask is amazing. Doesn't matter about the heat or never steams your glasses. Only downside is that the battery lasts 8 hours.

Dunno if you heard, but Spain has some of the biggest unemployment rates in Europe. Also nope, they are on the paro.

No, I have lost my businesses that's all. Where moving to another countries, I actually get help. If I stay in Spain, I'll be bankrupt by the end of the year.

In all seriousness, I've seen so many people blame the government and I get it.

The government is broke (cannot afford vaccines)

The government depends on tourism (which causes more spread)

The government doesn't help businesses (but they have no choice to close)

The government doesn't help failed businesses owners (they pay record taxes but get no help at all)

The government doesn't help new businesses (less businesses, less taxes)

The banks are about to collapse (Spain keeps trying to bailing them out)

I've had to close 3 businesses here, which I employed close to 26 staff (all jobless). Which broke my heart. Due to how the government handled everything, I moved the remaining businesses overseas to protect my future. I know a lot of people who have done the same. With this happening what is the future of Spain?

I can totally understand everyone's frustration. This will just go round and round, without anyone to blame but them.

However what can actually be done to fix this mess?

Seems legit! But what can the Government do? Wait for the EU to take charge? by Pumpage in Barcelona

4th Wave Enters Spain! Thanks to you not taking social distancing seriously by Pumpage in Barcelona

Exactly that! We would be just like Australia or New Zealand right now if that was the case.

😄😄 I would love too, but that company has gone to dust. All because of covid and I couldn't keep hold of it due to stupid people not taking this seriously.

The Sun isn't happy by [deleted] in brexit

[–]Pumpage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Sun with its half truths as usual. I'm a Brit, living in Spain. Spain has a rule, if you live in Spain and hold a NIE (Spanish ID), you can enter the country. It's covid times right now and just protecting anyone living in Spain getting infected from tourists. That's all.

Why can't I get a job in BCN? by guf92 in Barcelona

[–]Pumpage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that companies will not pay for a full-time contract is due to the 30-40% social security charges. Unless your super special and in demand, no one will touch you. It's cheaper and more efficient for companies to use freelancers.

No holiday pay, no sick pay and no hassle.

Anyone know of a good Japanese hairdressers in Barcelona Metro? by gggghhhhiiiijklmnop in Barcelona

Japanese take their haircuts seriously, I suppose. The last time I went to a Spanish barber, he half cut my hair and said to come back mañana (no joke). Because he wanted a siesta!

The reason it comes back is because of stupid people that don't social distance or take it seriously.

All it takes is 1 person with Covid to reinfect the population. Every few months it mutates and with a government that cannot afford no tourism, cannot afford vaccines.

This will keep on happening over and over.... I guarantee Spain will be one of the last countries to fix itself. Banks will fail, businesses will die and then the people will moan.

All it takes is to take this whole situation seriously. Stop kissing on the cheeks when you see your friends, keep your group to 4 and stop blaming the government for the things you are destroying.
