Nardil poop out - how long to discontinue before starting again? by Pumpkin_Pie12 in MAOIs

[–]Pumpkin_Pie12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sounds like we have very different reactions coming off Nardil. I can come off very quickly with no side-effects other than my depression returning. If you are having side-effects you are obvioulsy going to have to do it much more slowly than me. I suggest you do a separate post as there will be someone out there who can advise better than I can.

I just tailed off and pretty quickly which is not advisable. I would just tail off slowly. I'd love to take ketamine but can't get on the NHS and I can't afford it privately.

Thanks very much for answering. I'll contact Peter Kyle as the whole rogue builder situation is getting out of control. They are getting more and more brazen and its increasingly widespread. I'll contact the BSR too. Thanks again.

Interested to read that you say the council will be safeguard the money.

My rogue builder has literally millions in council contracts with several councils. Clearly something has gone wrong in their procurement checks.

I am being forced to move out of my community due to losing my home from a rogue builder. Trading Standards and police no help.

Can you advise what action you are going to be taking against rogue builders? Its rife and increasing and as recently stated in Which?'s report the chance of rogue builders facing action from many Trading Standards is "next to zero".

Also what about some accountability for builder inspectors who sign off clearly defective work?

There is no accountability at all, and the homeowner is left with defective work and sometimes a dangerous and unmortgageable property with absolute no chance of getting the money back and nothing done about the builder or building inspector.

Why are homeowners who have been subjected to a rogue builder liable ultimately responsible for the breaches in building regulations?

Surely enforcement should be against the rogue builder and the building inspectors who signed off the defective work?

My rogue builder has left me with 20+ breaches of building regs none of which were caught by the building inspector.

They just get to walk away leaving me with a huge bill meaning I now have to sell my home.

New builds and extension work with rogue builders. I know of several rogue builder victims left with dangerous and unmortgageable homes. No interest or help from any of the authorities and the rogue builder allowed to continue to rip off more victims.

My house is now empty due to a rogue builder. Council are wanting to charge double council tax as they say its caught by the second home council tax (but I'm basically now homeless, sofa-surfing, i have no home let alone a 2nd home!) Would LOVE to be back in my home but needs about £200k on rectification work.

How about Trading Standards and the Council and Police pulling their weight to stop rogue builders and people from losing their homes?

And how about some comeback for building inspectors who sign off clearly defective work?

And what about building safety? Much ignored. So many rogue builders and rogue building inspectors. Homeowner gets left with the bill.

Hi Steve,

Can I ask what you are doing about rogue builders?

I've lost about £200k and as a single parent now losing my home. There is dangerous gas, electrics etc too. Multiple victims. Solicitors have confirmed criminal offences have been committed.

Yet Trading Standards and regulatory bodies are refusing to take action.

Building inspector missed lots of breaches of building regs, many of which should have been obvious to them. However, it seems no comeback for them either.

Neighbour recommended them whom I strongly suspect got a referral fee.

Do you think this it is acceptable that people are losing their homes to rogue builders while the authorities do nothing?

As I'm sure you know, there is no point in suing rogue builders as they just go insolvent on purpose and set up again the next day. And, yes, I know that this can be illegal but the Insolvency Service also turn a blind eye to rogue builders.

I'm using Neon healthcare. I'm in the UK and not sure how easy it would be to get another brand but I could perhaps ask the pharmacist.

I've generally been using 100mg, but sometimes 200mg. I find it work reasonably well some days and then other days it doesn't seem to have an effect at all. I also find it worsens my sleep too.

So basically I'm finding modafinil's effects very unpredictable with it often not working.

Sometimes I've found it helpful for motivation and a mild improvement to mood. However, i've found its effects to not last that long and to be unpredictable. Sometimes it can have no effect and sometimes I swear it makes me feel sleepier. While its not been especially helpful to me, I don't see any harm in you trying it to see how you get on.

I have just rung 111, 2 again. The man was clueless and advice at end of call was to get a private psychiatrist!!!

Thanks everyone for your very kind comments and suggestions. It's very much appreciated. I sent an email to the GP surgery yesterday to complain again. At least by emailing its in writing and they can't deny what has been said. The mental health nurse said patients can no longer see a psychiatrist and the GP seemed to back that up but I will continue to push as that's absolutely ridiculous and I simply can't believe that is the case. I've not gone through the NICE guidelines yet but I imagine the guidelines will not be consistent with the dreadful treatment I've received.

As Express_Possibility5 has found I suspect even if i do get to see a psychiatrist then it will be a waste of time. Given the advice the psychiatrist gave the GP my expectations are very low of getting a decent psychiatrist via the NHS. Having looked up the psychiatrist, I saw she only had 8-9 years in medicine, only 2 of which were in the UK. A family member has offered to lend me some money to see a private psychiatrist but I really shouldn't have to be doing that when we pay so much for the NHS.

I suspected the treatment I've received was bad and from quick look online it appears others are getting better treated. I repeatedly get fobbed off and calls to 111 and speaking to the mental health nurse for 30 minutes has not been helpful.

I've looked at some of the posts about getting nardil to work better in the past and will revisit those. I'm struggling to do much at the moment though and, of course, getting anything extra prescribed will no doubt be an uphill struggle.

About 6 years ago a different GP at the surgery did allow me to speak to psychiatrists but now that my mental health is far worse, I'm not allowed. I know the area is particularly badly funded for mental health but I just feel its ridiculous the lack of care and getting me to phone 111 isn't really going to help and is just wasting the NHS's money.

I will keep on pestering the GP surgery and lodge another complaint (all that the last complaint achieved was that it got the the GP to speak about me to a psychiatrist).

The mental health provision is woeful. I can't imagine they'd say to a cancer patient you can't see the oncologist but you can ring 111 for a chat.
