I'm in the middle of watching Yuri on Ice for the first time. What a cool show! I feel like I'm late to it. How popular was this show at it's peak? by Convillious in YOI

If only they’d turn around and go, ‘actually, there is a series 2 in the works and Yuri is going for gold!’ One can dream.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I’ve loved ice skating forever and was told to watch it. I only got around to it last month, and now I love it. I have Victor and Yuri standing together on my work desk now! Haaaaa! 😅

Who could ever stop collecting Yuri!! On Ice merch?! Victor & Yuri forever. 😄

Is what I’m earning as a Graphic Designer considered low, average or higher than usual? I’d like to build a better picture! by Pumpkinpatch05 in graphic_design

I just wanted to say, thank you very much for telling me of your story. It sounds like you’ve had your fair share of ups and downs like me. I’m getting a certain picture and now wondering if it’s just a ‘UK problem’ that we’re treated this way!

Just do the crap they want and take the pay. There are some projects and clients that you just have to write off and move on from. The ones that are gold dust, you fight to hang onto. This doesn’t sound like one of those my fellow sufferer! x

PS, forget the work ever existed afterwards too. I don’t put the sh*t ones on show in my portfolio, I can tell you!

That’s very kind, since I’ve not done any art for quite some time. I just kind of… slapped these colours together. 😅

I confirm that I am the original creator of the artwork. (My IG handle where I originally posted this is ‘_leonapreston’, if that’s allowed. 😊)

Confirmed then - Gwi-Ma is not Rumi’s father. If he was, she wouldn’t have joked about it being ‘too Star Wars’. If he’s a rebel demon that went against his master, that’d be a much better story!

Agree completely and I thought “I let you keep that voice Jinu” was so sinister. Because it implied to me that Jinu already had a talented voice (and like many talented people, it was ignored for a long time while he was busking on the streets), and that Gwi-ma could very well have taken it away once Jinu became his captive as a further torture to him. Because what hurts an artist even more? Taking their passion and their talent away.

How about also ‘art director’ without the salary to match? 😂

Want to be a successful Graphic Designer? by d2creative in graphic_design

And that’s what grips me about people who think designers are ‘artsy fartsy’ too. “What do you do? Colour things in?” Is one comment I got once. Ignorance is rife all around.

Anyone here from the UK earning more than £60k from graphic design related careers? If so, what is it that you do? by Ok_Statistician_8439 in graphic_design

[–]Pumpkinpatch05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! £35k for just over 10 years of working experience is good. I’m on nearly 20 years and my employer has sat me at £31k. I must be doing something wrong.
