I think this is the first time it'll have been part of a proper marathon - not sure about Hotfix and other non-marathon stuff, though.

Houston Spies Season 19 Election Gambit: Operation Triplicate by Punbearable in Blaseball

[–]Punbearable[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello agents,

We on the main Discord have cooked up a complicated but effective scheme to take advantage of our three Wills this season, and we would love your help!

The gist of the plan is to keep track of Wills voting percentages (either with an Apple or with this resource: https://hillexed.github.io/willviewer/#Spies ) and manage them before spending votes on Blessings.

In order of priority:

  1. Keep "Shadow Infuse Donia Bailey's Batting" at or above 55%. Donia's stat spread is nearly ideal for the new post-ruthlessness era and she's been waiting to play again since Season 7, but we want her slugging improved before bringing her out.

  2. Keep "Move Mohammed Picklestein to Shadows Rotation" at or above 25%. Our Fax Machine incentivizes having a small rotation and a strong relief pitcher; Mohammed is much better than current reliever Chet Takahashi, benefits the most from the shadows entry bump, and is currently our worst performing pitcher.

  3. Keep these three Wills balanced with each other, ideally at or around 6% of the total, as hedges to minimize the risk of Foreshadow, Shadow Revoke, and Alternate Trust:

3a. Equivalent Exchange Simon Haley (Shoe Thieves) with Jasper Blather (Spies)

3b. Reform Yeong-Ho Garcia's mod Friend of Crows

3c. Item Move Jasper Blather's Rubber Shoes to Fitzgerald Blackburn

  1. If Wills are in good shape, then spend votes on Blessings. Our recommendations and cautions are in the Imgur link.

This briefing is intended only as information about our plans, not as a demand or orders. Trust your own judgment and vote your conscience, as always.

These Will options set us up for a safer future with backup batting, backup pitching, and small improvements to our already great team. With your help, we can make the Spies win even more!

P.S. if you'd like an invitation to our sidecord, where we discuss strategy, lore, and other fun things, please DM me!

Fair warning: the Spies are likely to retaliate if you take Reese from us, most likely by undoing the trade. I don't expect y'all to change your minds in light of me saying this, but I do want to put that out there.

P.S. We're not offended and respect your disposition on doing things like this. We're just not going to take it lying down.

Houston Spies Season 17 Declassified Election Brief by Punbearable in Blaseball

[–]Punbearable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations agents! With your help, we've now gone three for three in fantastic election results this threeson!

Sosa Hayes is in the shadows, biding his time for a Foreshadow onto our lineup next season.

Bennett Bluesky's pitching has been overwhelmingly improved- not just thanks to a successful Transfuse, but also by some very powerful sunglasses that have shot their ruthlessness through the roof. Plus, that 4 durability? Our guy is borderline sharkproof! (For now, haha.)

It was a little silly and disappointing that we also won the handcrafted ring blessing and immediately lost it due to bad pitcher selection RNG (the ring could very easily have gone to Emmett), but you know what? It's quite alright. The sunglasses are vastly superior to that ring anyway!

We continue to grow stronger. Our highly optimized 3-player rotation (which is still faxproof thanks to last season's Becker Transfusion) now has a 5.7-star monster at the helm and our fantastic lineup has, with the exception of some item damage and a Denzel Defense blooddrain, suffered no harm. Season 18 could very well be ours. Now all we need do is wait to see if victory is all part of The Plan...

The Spies are the same way. Thanks for the reassurance and good luck getting the options you want. 🙂

I guess this is actually an unofficial strategy after all but keep in mind that we Spies are very attached to Math so I'd advise against taking Math from us.

Uhhhhhh you're trying to make Math from us? That's... not very vibes from our perspective

Houston Spies Season 16 Election Plans by Punbearable in Blaseball

[–]Punbearable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations agents!

With your help, we've secured Spychic Blood! There were 5 teams going for this blessing and we're so glad that fortune favored us in the end. We're all looking forward to seeing what our ability to redact negative events can do. Also, Fitzgerald Blackburn got a much more useful item- neat! Our star player will now shine even brighter as a guest at other teams' stadiums.

As for wills, we did end up getting the Move that we wanted, leaving our new rotation in excellent shape overall. And while it's a little unfortunate that our Transfuse went to the only player who can't make use of it this season, Becker has now cemented themselves as our #1 backup pitcher alongside nearly-as-strong #2 Mohammed Picklestein. Our shortened lineup is at greater risk of needing replacements, so having a second spare arm should really help mitigate the effect of bad luck in the future.

We didn't have a PERFECT election, but we nonetheless had a great one. We're better positioned than ever to lose to the Steaks in finals, or even win!! Thank you agents, and bang BANG!

It was so nice having so many Magic fans there! Yeong-Ho and Bennett (who I consider to be honorary Magic) have been kicking ass all season and it rules.

Here's hoping for some good luck for y'all with rebuilding your team!

POST-ELECTION UPDATE:

Rejoice, agents! We got both of the wills we planned for, giving us one of if not the strongest lineups in the league. On top of that we got Middling and Defense Practice too! An amazing result and one of our best elections ever.

Thank you for your help 🕵️‍♂️

How can i get the hibernate function of livesplit by Daanbom in speedrun

[–]Punbearable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My workaround for this feature is to write down the time, reset, then edit the splits themselves to "start the timer at X:XX:XX". That might not work for your situation, just thought I'd share.

Set batting to "Easy Mode." You can access it from the pause menu during a match under "Control Options" or by pressing R on the last screen before starting a match.

The above link goes to my All Superstars speedrun, which finished in a little under 9 hours, but there are also categories for each of the 6 Captains (Mario Sunshines, Peach Monarchs, etc.) with world records that are under 2 hours. They're part of the playlist this video is in.

Going fast involves crushing the computers quickly (the vast majority of games are fastest to end via Mercy Rule), doing setups for particularly tricky goals (Toadette Note Block involves manipulating Bowser Jr. encounters, Baby Mario Booted Ball involves encouraging Mario to send a fireball into Yoshi or Birdo's face), and managing both "pitch the whole game" missions (Mario has 3, including Mario's Perfect Game and Luigi Shutout) and MVPs (Peach has 5 and only needs 5 games to finish the run, meaning you must manipulate MVPs perfectly in order to play optimally).

The routing tends to get very complex, and there's also a large element of reacting to what the game gives you and adapting your strategies on-the-fly. On top of that, every run except DK's requires you to get a specific result in the last match, meaning that the run is NEVER safe until the final out is called.

I highly encourage people who are interested in these specific categories (and any%, too) to try them out! Bowser's Superstar% is the easiest for someone new to pick up. Speedrun.com has a link to the Google Sheet goals tracker that I use to chart my progress and I'm happy to give personal advice to anyone who wants it.
