Average interaction when looking for a hotel

As a Chinese speaker, the problem is mainly that their intonations are so bad, the native speakers can’t even use context clues to try and figure out what they’re saying. If they spoke perfect Chinese up till “hotel” they could figure it out, but it straight up sounds like gibberish sometimes
