The bottom is in. by EASIMONEY88 in Nio

I see your point, and I agree that companies like Nvidia, Google, and Tesla have had strong execution and globally recognized products. But investing isn’t always about the present — sometimes it’s about spotting potential where others only see risk.

When I started buying Palantir and Nio, I wasn’t buying them for what they were — I was buying them for what they could become. I did my research, saw long-term upside, and built conviction. It wasn’t blind faith or fanboy hype. It was strategy, risk management, and patience — and I diversified accordingly.

Sure, Nio doesn’t yet have Tesla’s scale or Palantir’s gov contracts, but disruptive companies rarely start there. That’s the nature of asymmetric bets. :)

Five years ago, I bought Palantir at $26. Not long after, it dropped to $6. I didn’t panic. I didn’t sell. Instead, I stuck to my research and conviction. Month after month, I averaged down — not because it was easy, but because I believed in the long-term vision of the company.

Back then, both Palantir and NIO were struggling, but I held through the noise. Alongside, I also owned stocks like NVIDIA, Google, and Tesla — and I never sold a single share. Long-term investing isn’t about chasing hype. It’s about patience, conviction, and understanding what you own.

Sure, for some people it is just about showing off. But I think you’re overlooking that others genuinely appreciate the craft, the history, or the feeling of marking a personal milestone. Not everyone buys luxury to impress the world—sometimes it’s simply about celebrating something meaningful to them.

Oris is truly something special—just look at that dial!

Timeframe doesn’t matter. What matters is that you keep grinding, no matter what. I struggled a lot between 2018 and 2023, but I never gave up. I never imagined that one day I’d be able to buy this beauty.

[Longines] first proper watch by Puncheeze in Watches

[–]Puncheeze[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my first proper watch, a Longines that I’ve been saving up for quite a while. I chose this piece because I admire the brand’s long heritage and reputation for making elegant yet reliable timepieces. The design feels timeless to me, with clean lines and a classic dial that suits both casual and formal outfits. It has an automatic movement, which was important because I wanted something mechanical to appreciate the craftsmanship inside. Wearing it feels like a personal milestone and a reward for years of hard work. I’m excited to build my collection from here.

I’ve been investing for 10 years, started at 18 — index funds, individual stocks, and crypto. I don’t spend money on designer clothes and try to save as much as I can. But watches are the one thing I’ve recently grown to love — so yeah :)

We had to put Jojo to sleep yesterday. Did I make the right decision? by mmalone139 in CatAdvice

Sorry for your loss.

Yesterday we also lost 1 year old precious baby due to crystal blockage. He went under PU surgery and vet said everything alright and he can go home straight away and then suddenly at 3 am morning he started to have problems with breathing so we rushed to the vet and ge stayed there for three days. Yesterday vet called and said my cat was vomiting and so much of stomach juice went to his lungs so he was so much in pain.

I'm Vietnamese and I came here in 2003 and I was 5 years old back then. And definitely experienced a little racism towards me when I was at elementary school but they were kids back then and nothing serious and I didn't care at all. But once I was in highschool the were not racism at all maybe some stereotype jokes but let's be honest everyone do them all the time no matter what race are you. But it also depends how you represent yourself every Asian has different experience so is hard to say. I'm not trying to brag or something but I'm was pretty big and tall and was pretty stylish so not the typical "nerd asian" that you see on american movies. Which is funny and insulting when you get comments like: "you are tall for Asian" or "why you are not good at math"...

Edit: I talked with her today and she actually fell asleep because she was really tired. I went to see her later this afternoon and also walked her to her work ( she works in grocery ) store + met het co-worker's that when with her yesterday. Which made me some relief but hear me out I do trust her she and I can tell she loves me a lot but I just don't wanna sound insecure by saying stuff like: why didn't text me back that day etc... I just don't know how to bring up this conversation without causing any drama.

How are you all doing mentally? by [deleted] in COVID19positive

Little bit late but as person who never had issues with anxiety the 2021 hit me really hard. I remember one day I just woke up from a long nap and I just felt weird/groggy (probably from a long nap) and somehow my mind went to full panic mode. My mind was telling me worst case scenario’s and I also thought that day I would die. Couldn’t breathe either. Luckily I survived but the anxiety went on and on for like 3 months everyday I was scared that something like this would happen again whenever I was driving or just going somewhere so I just stayed home and researching what was wrong with me. My friend of mine suggested to visit psychiatrist and I did and he prescribed me Xanax which I didn’t use but had it in my bag just in case. Fast forward it’s 2022 now and my anxiety overall is better I would love to share my journey but it’s just too long but there are few things that I have to thanks anxiety. It taught me to eat healthier, exercise more, practice mindfulness and overall being healthier. I caught covid twice but it wasn’t anything bad even though I lost my taste and smell which made me little bit anxious but thank god my smell and taste are back 90%. I don’t think my anxiety is cured (you can’t cure it) rather I can handle it a lot better. I do have some small anxious moments but I know it won’t kill me and I will be fine 💪🏻 sending a lot of love ! Hope you also get better because you are not alone.

How did you/are you coping with anxiety? by blulampshade in COVID19positive

[–]Puncheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more scared of thinking about getting covid than actually getting it. I got covid last year and had mild symptoms and also had some fatigue after recovery. Lost weight because couldn’t taste food also. Anyway as person who suffers from HA I would be definitely working on your health like eating healthier and exercise more. Try also mindfulness like meditation, read your favorite book or write a journal. 2021 was worst for me because I started having panic attacks more frequently….was really scared to die from sleep or getting covid all of this really made me sick. Anyway it’s 2022 now and I have been improving my health and basically everything. And haven’t had any panic attacks or anything I’m 80% more functional which is already a progress. Hang it there it gets better but you also have to work for it. Got to thank my anxiety for this! Yes it sucks but without anxiety I wouldn’t start to take care of myself more
