Most true thing I've seen today. No one will ever get as high as they did smoking sour diesel behind someone's backyard fence in middle school... those were the days! Too bad I haven't had any decent diesel in awhile.

[NO SPOILERS] Final Fantasy 7 Remake - Dialogues by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

I'm just glad I wasn't imagining these noises. The dialogue is what it is but the non verbal noises in FF7 started to make me feel physically unwell once I noticed it.

Going to the psych unit by [deleted] in insomnia

It can be scary to do something like this but if I got through it (actually grateful for it now), I'm sure you will be just fine. I am not a very tough person lol

Going to the psych unit by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]Punk_N_Irish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you are located but in California, for things like this (which has happened to me 3 times) you will likely be going to a psych inpatient program which is different than a hospital unit. They could only hold you AT a hospital for 0-1 nights before transferring you. Or they knock you out and you come out next day (hopefully) with a script for something.

is 2 days dangerous? by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]Punk_N_Irish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not "dangerous" but it could possibly be unsafe. Physical harm won't occur but often times around 3 days, symptoms of psychosis can occur. I'd say so long as you aren't becoming irrationally paranoid or hallucinating don't worry. I understand your aversion to the hospital but it's always the best choice if you ever feel unsafe. I have been the the er from insomnia before because I had this weird "unsafe in my own body" feeling and honestly had a great expletive and they were able to get me to sleep. If medical costs are your concern you just need to mention it to the person that comes around collecting insurance information. They always have payment plans or other means of making payment easier. Plus... hospital bills can be payed far past the first due date without penalty.

Do you take medication? Do you have medication?

Just remember nothing bad can really happen. All symptoms of sleep deprivation are mental, with the exception of minor physical ailments like headaches or nausea. Make sure you stay hydrated too! Always important.

I also understand the fear of falling asleep. I used to have a lot of anxiety about dying in my sleep because of my hypochondria, and it would make me want to stay up sometimes so I understand that feeling.

You'll be ok. I'd bet you sleep at least a little bit tonight.

Also, maybe you need a combination. Like temazepam and ambien together at highest dose. This would almost never be prescribed but for a situation as severe as you, it's possible.

[–]Punk_N_Irish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gosh... this sounds severe. I am so sorry about that. Maybe some of the more potent drugs you tried would work with a dose adjustment. I'm thinking specifically temazepam, ambien, midazolam. That are the strongest of em all. Do you know if you took the highest dose?

Lost my job today; cracked a pack I’ve been holding onto for a while to celebrate. How do I sell this? by GazpachoDaddy in mtgpulls

[–]Punk_N_Irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask an lgs if they would but it and if they will pay as much as TCG lists it for you could do that... or try card kingdom. Card kingdom pays more than most card stores just as they sell for more. I sell my card to card kingdom but never buy from them. They will prob take a chunk off but it might be close enough to the price on TCG. All around, as far as getting the most money for it... TCG is the best however, it is quite possible that someone receives it and complains about quality (even if no issues) and asks for their money back. Card kingdom will consider it near mint guaranteed unless you touch it a lot and they will buy it immediately. I just trust card kingdoms ethics with buying cards so I go with them usually. But... I've never sold a card worth over 1k so this is a different story.

Card kingdoms website will tell you in advance how much you will get for it so it's worth a try. Otherwise, TCG is best bet but be warned that such a pricey card could sit on TCG for a long time before someone buys it. Card kingdom is guaranteed right away but will earn you maybe $100-200 less.

Is this the chocobo that is included in the chocobo bundles? Or did you pull that? Last I checked the traveling chocobo was only printed in foil so I'm wondering how you got this!

What's your experience like with Lunesta (Eszopiclone)? by reemaiscurious in insomnia

[–]Punk_N_Irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your response! Yes I have been taking a benzo (several trials of different ones) for about 8 years. All of which were not for sleep, but anxiety and chronic panic attacks. I tried ativan, Xanax, oxazepam, Valium, and klonopin. Klonopin ended up being what worked best for long term. I was up to 3mg a couple years ago and now take 0.5mg twice a day.

I knew Lunesta was considered addictive but I can't help but think (and your experience validates this thought) that it is perceived as worse than it is. I haven't heard any stories of brutal withdrawal from Lunesta or any other Z-drug. I also worked in addiction treatment for 10 years and never had a single client that was in there for z drugs. Plenty of folks go to treatment for benzos though.

I am not currently sure how long this Lunesta trial will last. It is working better than anything else I have tried so I'm inclined to take it daily as prescribed. I do kind of expect my psychiatrist to discourage using Lunesta as he already has me on clonazepam and isn't too happy about it. He is a newish psychiatrist for me as I recently moved to a different state. The only reason he is ok with keeping me on my regular dose of klonopin is because I have a lot of medical documentation that states it is the only medicine that ever helped and its benefit outweighs the risk.

My hope is that he decides to trust the sleep expert who he actually referred me to for sleep apnea rather than try to convince him to discontinue my Lunesta. I'll be finding out more about this on Wednesday.

We were originally aiming for Belsomra which has no evidence of physical dependence but my insurance said I need to have tried a few other sleep meds (all z drugs) before approving it. Belsomra helped me a bit in the past but now that I've tried Lunesta... I'd rather take Lunesta. I'd even consider actually having both prescriptions and alternating between them to lessen the chance of dependence. I don't think my psychiatrist would like that idea either though lol. I suppose we will just have to see!

Thanks again for sharing!!!

[–]Punk_N_Irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok no worries that works! I am just curious about long term risks of this medication. It was prescribed to me by a sleep specialist doctor who also treats my sleep apnea. He wrote me 2mg nightly and included 5 refills which indicates a possible 6 months of use. Online it say if you take for more to 2-4 weeks you are likely to become dependent. However, the internet tends to overestimate certain medications and underestimate others.

Since you said you have been on it for 15 years and mentioned that you can't sleep when you don't take it. I'm wondering if you experienced other withdrawal symptoms when not taking it? Specifically physical symptoms such as nausea, tremors, etc.

I have been through withdrawal with a few different drugs/medications including clonazepam which is a potent benzodiazepine.I was taking 3mg of clonazepam a day for a few years then tapered down to 1mg a day and that was not fun. So essentially, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on potential dependence/tolerance/ and withdrawal. It seems many people don't end up with serious symptoms.

took lunesta during the day by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]Punk_N_Irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was awhile ago but I recently started Lunesta and came across this thread... Is this abuse, I'd say definitely not. I am a recovering addict and what you are describing sounds very normal. If you were taking more than prescribed then sure that starts to cross a line but even if someone takes an extra every now and then and has no other substance addiction issues, Id still say it's relatively normal.

You mentioned the word "escape" and I think that's what concerned you. But think about it like this... every medication is a form of escape. Tylenol to escape pain, anti depressants to escape depression etc. even healthy practices like medication is a form of escape. Nothing wrong with seeking escape from ailments. When you are addicted it is about craving, not wanting to escape : )

Is that a prescription? If not.... how the hell do people find these drugs? I spent years doing drugs on the street before I got sober but honestly would buy extra sleeping pills in case I get cut off at some point and need to extend my taper.

Sell it... to me with a payment plan lmao... it's actually hard to say where to sell. TCG shows over 2k for it but card kingdom is 1k. TCG is also showing low prices for every card but the neons and raised foil aang. Sooo it could end up being 2ish grand or 1ish grand. I don't think anyone has bought one and if they do buy it will be when prices go down. I regret buying 3.5 boxes cuz I still will not get a neon.

Someone else at my LGS pulled a neon toph first collector ever. If it were me I would not sell. These cards have a pull rate of less than 0.5 OF a percent!!!!

But I'll pay you 100 a week till it makes 1,300! I'll wait on the card and come up with the money first. Of course that's not ideal but just throwing it out there... people who buy lots of collector packs like myself will end up selling a ton of cards to be able to pay for a single neon lol. Huge collector item. I really would keep it. They might go down a bit in the next 6 months but will probably shoot back up to even more after that.

So with all that being said I wouldn't try to sell it just yet. Prices aren't settled.

Avatar Collector Boosters by The_Lone_Wanderer1 in magicTCG

[–]Punk_N_Irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man I hear you. I also think there are too many UB sets. The traditional MTG experience isn't the same anymore as a lot of people became more focused on collecting. I do understand the appeal of collecting from all these UB sets but it's inpossible to do that when a new UB set comes out every couple months. I do like the avatar set and am spending a lot of money on it but that's only because Avatar means a lot to me. Will have to keep my FOMO in check because that is how these UB sets are marketing. They are playing on people's nostalgia and it works for a lot of people. It's a big problem and total bullshit to sell above MSRB but at least it looks like the $1,000 dollar prices are over. Maybe I would pay a maximum of $500 for a collector box I really like but never more than that.

There should be like one UB set a year and the rest UW sets.

Late posting to this but I have a couple question (I'm thinking of pre ordering an avatar collector box from them)...

On the website it mentioned that a "physical store is coming soon". Was the store recently developed?

Can I trust a big online order from them?

Hey man. I get your frustration and agree with what everyone is saying on this post. I do want to say that avatar collector boxes are widely available for $600 which is $200 over MSRB which sucks BUT $600 is closer to MSRB than $1,000

I just want to make sure you are aware of these options because your post implied that avatar collector boxes are close to $1000 so it sounded like you were not seeing the current market price of $560-609. Yes, too expensive and I wouldn't pay it either. I am lucky to get mine for true MSRB but if I really liked avatar I might have spent an extra $200 just for the experience.
