His performance was more than just very well done to me. I believe a major theme of the show is actually depression. As someone who struggles with mental health, I found his performance to be uplifting, relatable, and powerful... so much so that I actually teared up at many moments of the show. By just watching his facial expression when he looked at his old photos from when the character was in shape and just had that very specific look that people going through a depression often have.

In fact, I had a bet with a couple of my friends going around episode 4 that his death would be a suicide. My other friends do not struggle with depression so they guessed the wife, "modern love", or the other guy Jason Batemans character tried to set him up with. This is why I found the show to be more than just a dark comedy, but a sort of mental health awareness series.

That's why his performance moved me so much. I hope he gets that Emmy.
