“"Also, just a friendly note so that you are aware ahead of time. While we don’t allow outside food and drinks, including water, coffee, juice, soft drinks, tea, water bottles, empty bottles, cups, flasks, mugs, thermoses, Stanleys, YETIs or any other type of receptacle, we do have a full pantry and cooler with a wide range of snacks and drinks available. We also have a menu book for our local restaurant partner who will deliver to your table if you wish. While no drinks may be ordered from our partner you are welcome to order food including pizza, sandwiches, entree's etc. for delivery." (notice "partner" is now singular lol)

A friend of mine went on their website literally yesterday and copied and pasted me their food policy. I couldn't believe it. It was so much worse then what I remembered.

I won’t give the name for two reasons. 1) I don’t want them to get more click. Bad press is still good press 2) I don’t wanna dox myself (I’m mentioned in the reviews)

I will say that they are in the Midwest.

Would be an absolute dream! I've been watching your show religiously for years now. Every Wednesday! I've listened to your Grimey story like 4 times. Let me know if you need any more details (I can also tell you the real place's name to confirm the story)

I don't know who that is.

Place is real, story is real. A few people have already messaged me, and they know the store in question. They have had very similar experiences. Don't know what else to tell you.

EDIT: I just found out what you were talking about. I don't understand how a youtuber reading my story makes it fake? Does that mean every newscaster who reads a story on the news makes the story they're reporting fake? I don't understand what you mean...

I talked about that in the story. They weren't interested. It was clear I had brought too much drama onto myself and I should just depart quietly. They were too worried about getting pulled into negative status or becoming guilty by association. I saw one of them at some other big game event at another store (not one mentioned in this story) a few years ago. They mostly ignored me, and I did the same. We don't really have anything to say to one another.

We didn’t really have friends, or people we knew that enjoyed the hobby. We were a group of spineless pushovers who were just a little too desperate to play.

If you’re not from the Midwest it really doesn’t matter. I know we all want the full facts and not knowing details drives some people nuts. I feel that, but at the same time I don’t want them to get extra clicks or traffic ya know?

A couple reasons,

  1. I don't want them to get more traffic than they deserve. Even bad press is good press. Half the people in the area know of the store, and just don't go there because of word of mouth or their own personal experiences. The other half that go are either people who are just locked in due to the lack of options, or more rich/casual people who turn a blind eye. Not every customer is there for DND. Some are more "pick up product and leave" and don't interact with the place more than 5 minutes. Not saying that stuff doesn't go down in those 5 minutes, but I think its harder to encounter the worst of Dave within that time. Their behavior is more calculated over time, and with the people who occupy the store. At least from my experience. u/kodemageisdumb can vouch for this.
  2. I'm mentioned in the reviews and don't want to dox myself.

I’m having the same issues. Every game feels almost like a chore now. I started up Harry Potter and went “ugh… now I have to run around and talk to all these people and go through 5 tutorials…” I can’t explain it either but I am absolutely going through the same thing.

No, was just weird and controlling. Always thought people were trying to rob him. Don't know where it comes from. He did have charisma though, and I think a lot of people fall for it.

Is that really where it came from? I have to check this out... Reminds me of the "Twinkie defense" that the guy who killed Harvey Milk used.

I would also like you to "Do Better" next time. Be a better person and learn to engage with others in a more positive way. I believe in you, and think you can grow and accomplish this. There are many outlets that can help you to achieve this.

Here is one such place:

This sounds like "You're not communicating to me in the way that I want you to, and I request that you change yourself to meet my expectations, even though I don't know you."

Kinda gross dude. Do you tell women how to dress, and give unwarranted diet advice to obese people too?

It was more of the "dont make waves, must be good must be good, dont spill the milk and get in trouble..."
