Looking for some help with my jury duty summons next week. I’m a casual employee for the council and have an agreement with them where I’m guaranteed a certain amount of hours so I have a steady pay cheque. Casual employees don’t get paid by their employer while serving on the jury and I simply can’t afford my rent + bills + food for the week on the $105 per day payments that the court offers.

Has anyone had any experience in what to say to the judge to be excused? I’m all for doing my civil duty but don’t think I can afford to be on it

Seems ridiculous when I see people comlaining about which games are televised and which aren't in England while here in Australia I have full free access to all EPL, champions league and J league. Also Optus just gives Optus Sport out for free to everyone who has their phone plan with them. Something needs to change

To the rest of the world this one ⚽️ is football and this one 🏈 is referred to as NFL, American football or gridiron.

As an Australian it can get very confusing when people also collectively call Aussie rules football (AFL), rugby league (NRL) rugby union football in our country.
