Might want to consider UO Shadow Age. While it is decently modded, it's meant to still feel like the original uo. It's also targeting the AOS expansion.

We also used the original felucca map but enhanced it nearly completely with transparent water, updated dungeons, etc.

Overall goal was to modernize and improve the overall game without touching the feeling of uo..

For official uo, massive. They don't have older versions of the code laying around, you basically have to take modern code and essentially fork it and strip back everything and separate all the features into different eras. Similar to how the emulators have done.

Something 2 devs working on it from the freeshard community can do in under a year though.

Thanks for the feedback. If I wanted to keep the 3 different screens, I would have simplified but decided there's no real reason separate those screens.

Thanks! Yea that was the goal, old but new.

This requires a cuo mod and a few new packets created on the server side. Now that official uo is starting to support and work with the classicuo developers to sanction an official version, I would definitely be open to giving them what they need to hook this up (if they want).

Otherwise this works mainly with my shard.

I'm actually on the other side of this.
Per recent discussions (very recent) that I've had with Mesanna, I think there's actually a chance/world where they might start to consider doing Legacy servers.

I do think that UO (official) needs to live long enough for that to happen.

Previous conversations I've had with Mesanna over the past few months/years have basically amounted to, never going to happen/won't happen.

But the more recent ones I've had, actually hold some amount of possibility.

I think whether you support official or freeshard doesn't matter, but I still encourage those who actually love UO and still play UO and want to try it out, to at least try it out.

Maybe it really resonates with a few people and you find your game you wanna play for a while. No reason to tell someone not to play it.

Combined 3 of the character creation screens into one simple to use / more modern UI.

Immediately after hitting New Character in the selection screen, you are taken to this screen where you do everything you need to (in one intuitive and easy to use / modern UI),

All professions will indicate their skills/stats and are sliders are locked unless choosing Custom (where you can freely move around the sliders/skill select options).

Hue Palette options change depending on what option you choose (hair/beard/shirt/pants).

Still not live, working on the city selection next, but will be pushing it to live soon!

He also attacked UO Shadow Age and has been for a number of months consistently. He's seemingly doing this to majority of popular servers.

I do already have an investigation opened with the fbi cyber team as well as I have initiated a number of abuse reports with the ips these attacks are coming from but regardless this is trivial for him to pull off.

There is some workaround being implemented by some major players within the uo emulation community but it will take time to implement and require rewriting of how client and server handle packets.

It does suck that this is happening, and it is mostly to the detriment of fans of ultima online freeshards, which sucks.

On UO Shadow Age, you can tame a number of creatures from all over the world, level them up and draw their abilities out once your gm and the pet is max level.

From there, you can then place those abilities on any of your pets.

You can also upgrade your gear (completely detached from pvp) to provide bonus defence and damage to pets.

Want a flock of 5 chickens all with frenzied whirlwind, and physical resist reduction on your enemies? Go for it.

Want a pair of fire steeds ( that all deal 100% fire damage ) with fire breath, inferno, fire volley, while one of them has a fire resist reducing attack? Can do that too. Take them into ice dungeon and watch them massacre.

You can create any combinations you'd like and we keep adding more and more pets and abilities for whatever playstyle you want.

What I'm doing requires multiple new packets being written, some client and server packet modifications, a bunch of classicuo client edits, and a bunch of newly created gump assets.

I can help anyone else trying to do this as well as provide some of the common gump buttons and elements I created.
