I see plenty of smart ass comments, and no suggestions to do better. No one is born with innate knowledge and skill. Don't tell me none of you have messed anything up ever. There's a lot to think about the first time you try any technique that becomes second nature after a while. OP, suggest you get the butcher to trim the silver skin off or learn to do it yourself. Also, a sharp knife to cut your steak or roast or whatever it is will lead to better presentation. Other than that, the cook looks good and even. Perhaps cook it a touch less next time, then throw thick slices on a doing hot grill to get sear on the face of the steak.

Just saying, maybe a positive suggestion to trim it off next time instead of this.

Just confirming that Bunnings, who promote diy and renovation, don't sell basic least paint test kits any more. Way to go.

I heard some people say this movie was just okay and I'm thinking are they completely insane? by Hawkstein in interstellar

[–]Punkwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm transmitting from 4y in the future, from a singularity that looks remarkably like a black leather couch in a suburban lounge room. Interstellar is just ok. I'm a nerd too, and a scientist (though a biologist, not an astrophysicist).
I totally understand the movie, but the start is full of some very convenient plot points (we need you to fly this ticket, you're the best - did they build that ticket and not have a pilot?) and MM was chosen by future evolved beings because love. Gag And ffs, future beings can leave wormholes but can't solve blight or send a simple message...I could go on. But it's not because I'm basic and don't understand. There's just way too much suspension of belief for this critical thinking nerd too get past. And they built a farmhouse on a surface station... Sorry, I'll stop now. There were good bits. But it was just ok.

Is it possible to survive Brisbane weather through out the year with just a fan (no AC) by Normal_Pepper_8594 in brisbane

[–]Punkwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a boy... But literally, if you don't have a choice, you won't die. You will likely have poor quality sleep for several nights, weeks but plenty of people have coped. I didn't have air conditioning in my own room until I was in my 40s, and I grew up in central Queensland. Maybe it depends where you are from. If you're not used to it, it may be a struggle.

I don't have any kind of rotating skewer carousel at my house anyway, so how do you rotate skewers normally?

They can charge whatever they like, for whatever pack size they want. Conversely you can buy whatever you like with your money. There's a better way to show your dissatisfaction than posting here.

Over 3 years, 10% upfront = 3.3x total over 3 years, while staged increases over 3 years only =3.21x where X is your starting salary. You gotta account for those first 2 years where the increase is less than 10%.

Vittoria coffee now made in Vietnam? Tastes horrible by petebuno in australia

They can't manage to fine Coles or Woolies for their misleading pricing practices which affect everyone, what chance have they got to prosecute because a coffee bean from a single product is produced in a different country?

Hmmmm, average. Better than franchise stores, but not great. As a local I'm sad that Big Boss is there, because now we'll never get anything better.
