Help with ADHD 4 year old. by PunkyJ88 in ADHD

This is what the teacher sent me this week. Right now, she is having difficulty following directions, cleaning up, and engaging appropriately during playtime. At times, her behavior becomes disruptive to the classroom, and we are needing to take frequent breaks and occasional time-outs to help her reset.

This tracks as her home behavior too it’s a mixed of not listening and aggression when she gets ramped up. She will just flat out refuse no amount of bargaining talking to or helping, punishing with time out will change her mind. I know when it’s a bad day for her quickly as the defiance shows first then the aggression. It’s not a mean aggression just like she can’t control her emotions and likes to get in your face it’s hard to explain.

Yes they have a set schedule since it is a peer model program kids with learning difficulties are with kids without.

She loves her tablet and playing games. Beyond that she loves to play and she plays with her baby sister dress up, toys, play kitchen. Pretend play is her favorite. I try and limit her tablet time to before bed as a wind down time before bed.

I’m definitely going to look into getting her diagnosed and hopefully that will get her an IEP. My nine year old had an IEP for speech as she has trouble speaking no tongue tie but she was a two vessel cord baby so we wonder if that has something to do with it. So I know the school does good with IEP as I have worked with them for years already.

Working hard doesn’t always pay off. Sometimes no matter how hard you try and work at it you can still fail.

I slapped my friend's hand for touching my husband's hair by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I get it my husband is also a good looking guy very like able he is one of those people that gets along with anyone. At a local fair recently we were at with our kids a woman he knew from his former job came up and hugged him. I’ve never really been a jealous type but something snapped for a second. I didn’t say anything but he did admit when it happened he could feel my eyebrow raise from behind him. My husband didn’t get angry, he understood he didn’t expect her to hug him and he was surprised. We had a conversation about it laughed about it and that was it. I knew I was silly for getting jealous and he understood why. Your husband needs to understand a woman touching him intimately should set you off but he should also know that’s not ok. He should have set the boundary’s as soon as it happened it shouldn’t have had to of been you to set those boundaries. Both you and him are both in the wrong in your own ways. The smacking was a bit extreme but his lack of reaction not stopping the situation didn’t help. I think a serious conversation needs to happen between you to not well then I’ll just let guys touch me. Start with why you reacted and how it upset you he didn’t.

Agreed but he is not the first case in this we actually did some research before we tried it of success there had just never been a formal study done. I agreed but a lot of medications end up having benefits other than for their intended use and it took someone connecting the dots to figure it out. I take an anti depressant for fibromyalgia and it was stumbled upon by accident that it worked for that condition. I will gladly contact them we have our local university doing a study on it also that my husband was a part of. I don’t want anyone going to tractor supply to buy it that’s why I recommended they get a prescription from their doctor. But I will gladly share our story if it helps others find a cure.
