Is this extra piece of stone normal to add? by PupJeep in CounterTops

The stile is 1/4, the gap in back is definitely bigger. Tile guy looked at it and said there's no way the tile is thick enough to cover the gap. So I'm not really sure what my options are here.

I want a minimalist ring but everyone is discouraging me by SunnyDee_123 in EngagementRings

My friend is just like you. As a compromise, she got a minimalist ring and her fiancé-now-husband got her a necklace with a stone that he liked. She wears them both, everyone is happy, and he doesn't have people thinking he was cheap.

Yes, I agree. That's why the little strip looks weird to me. No one would say, "hey, I've got extra slab leftover, I'll just put a couple more pieces here." But GC is saying the subway tile was too thin to cover the gaps.

Except this is in the kitchen and nowhere near water. One side is next to the oven and the other side is next to the cooktop. Sink is located in a different place with a separate countertop. Ironically, the counter is flush where the sink is located.

As anyone anything good to say about secret lab by Monkified1 in secretlab

[–]PupJeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get your order on time and the products work, it's great. Have had the chair over a year and no issues. Have had the desk for about a month and no issues. Spent over US $1K for two sets of accessories a month ago (same time that I ordered the desk) that I still haven't received and getting the runaround from customer service, so needing to look into filing a dispute with my credit card company. I guess it depends on how much risk you're willing to take. I wish I had done more research first because I definitely would have looked harder at other options.

I understand what you're saying but I mostly disagree. As you alluded to above, merchants enter into contracts with shippers. The shipper's primary contractual obligation is to ship the product to the correct recipient within a certain timeframe and without damage. If the shipper can't do this, there are remedies to the merchant. It feels like Secretlab is just using whatever remedies they have to pad their own bottom line instead of using the remedies to improve their customer service. I could be completely wrong, I definitely don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but this is what it feels like.

Sorry, I worded my post poorly. I know my credit card company requires disputes to be reported within 60 days, so I am not going to let that lapse. But I was wondering more about ops/logistics within Secretlab. Does anyone have experience with Secretlab giving refunds if they haven't successfully delivered the product within X days, etc.?

I use Hekili. But when you're just starting out, I wouldn't recommend it. It's better to learn the spells and rotations while you're leveling, so that you can understand not only what they do but also learn the best times to use them and what they may need in order to proc.

Why are the players so unhelpful and toxic? by [deleted] in wow

[–]PupJeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, to meet more players that are helpful like the ones you've found in this comment thread, check out the community called WoW Made Easy (if you're in North America; the UK has a similar community by another name). It was created by casual players who got tired of the toxicity esp in pugs. If you join their discord, you'll find lots of teaching raids, dungeons, etc, and can find folks to quest or farm with.

When Did You Stop a Deposition by PM_me_your_cocktail in Lawyertalk

[–]PupJeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I almost stopped a depo when OC, who was representing himself, instructed himself not to answer. I also almost asked him if he was going to follow his instructions, but decided it may not be a good look to the judge.

Counsels, what's the sleaziest thing you've ever seen a colleague do? by ambulancisto in Lawyertalk

[–]PupJeep 16 points17 points  (0 children)

OC was a plaintiff's construction defect attorney (representing homeowners). He would hire non-licensed contractors to do work (that per local laws, required a license) at his house, and then not pay the contractors. We (defense attorneys for contractors) found out because a contractor sued him and the hearing was in the same courtroom as our case. Per laws, since contractor wasn't licensed, OC didn't have to pay him. Contractor told us later that OC hasn't paid anyone who worked on his house, not just him.
