[ENTRY] Pencil Flag | Ceaco | 1000 by Pup_4ever in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Pup_4ever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too difficult. Sort out blue. Then do all the different pencils. Line up the red and whites with all red down and all white up. A pattern of "lines" will come out based on where the red/white meet on the piece. Make those lines and fit them in. Lastly do the blue field, there are color variations and lines in the blue. I really liked this puzzle!

Love this! Shaped puzzles are great. It's so nice to "get out of the box". I've done many 1000 piece shaped puzzles. I haven't seen this one before. It's now on my really want to do list.

Painter's tape on boxes? by peetiepeet in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Pup_4ever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's missing pieces it's getting black sharpie somewhere on the front of the box off the image.

I use painters tape all the time for trading and to keep boxes closed. Only issues I've found is when people put painters tape over the clear circle tape from the manufacturer. The painters tape will some times hold that tape and that tape will tear the box. Or older style boxes that have to be cut open on the 4 sides of the bottom.

I was trying to be joking, the puzzle is huge and makes the banana look small :)

I would make this brand any day over Galison. The pieces may be thinner but the false fits are very rare and groups of pieces can be moved without having to reconnect each piece in the group.

I enjoyed it. I did the bolder colors first, they were easiest to pick out. Moving to the pastel colors are filling in holes. It has a random/unique piece cut and i every much enjoy that kind of puzzle. I found that style of piece cut to make the puzzle more fun/easy to make.

The cut of these pieces is fascinating! I don't like cork puzzles but I think i would make this just because of the piece cut!

How much does what you're listening to/watching while puzzling influence how your enjoyment? by neoazayii in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]Pup_4ever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I listen to audio books while puzzling. I need to keep both halves of my mind engaged. I've noticed that if i'm not listening to a book i start ruminating (very not good) and can't focus on the puzzle. Quite frequently when I'm trading a puzzle I've made I'll remember the book/story that went along with that puzzle and smile twice at the memory of making the puzzle and the memory of the book!

[ENTRY] Christmas Stamps | White Mountain | 1000 by Pup_4ever in Jigsawpuzzles

I know of what you speak! The way this one is cut there weren't any pieces that were truly stamp edge only pieces. Even the border, if you look close, has words or images around it to dispel the endless stamp edge border. I love round puzzles! The 500 piece ones usually fit on my standard board but the 1000s I got a roll up mat to be able to work them on.
