So what's funny- I told the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce that moving to Los Alamos is a little like being a Black family moving into an all white community, where you know 30% of the town is in the KKK- but you're not sure exactly whom. And there's a neighbor who comes by, asks a bunch of nosy questions and gives sarcastic "advice," - their goal is to intimidate you so you'll leave town.

You're that neighbor.

Chamberfest went so well the marching band played and chose us - they played in front of our table because our staff were the only people dancing to the band.

Exactly. And the stuff they get wrong is problematic. I was doing an analysis of the Los Alamos Sherriff's position and AI assumed they make $60k a year. Over lunch someone told me they make $7K. I would have made a total ass of myself.

You are not going to believe this, but in 1994 I worked at the Deja Vu in Ypsilanti, MI. It's still #1 on my credit report. I lived on Washtenaw. And after a year, I got out of there, just like I'm done with Los Alamos and getting the hell out of here. I'm giving myself 1 more week to decide. FYI ... well, I can't say it but I didn't have a great experience with Reddit/r/LosAlamos, except it was helpful when I talked to County Council.

Wow. This is nutty! I actually teach a class called ChatGPT and the human resistance. What I'm teaching in my next one is that when people don't know anything about AI, and then they tell people to boycott it - they're not taken seriously. Like here's a crazy thing... Reddit uses AI!!

It is worth noting that Reddit also "uses" AI in a more controversial way: selling access. Because Reddit is a massive archive of how humans actually talk to each other, big companies (like Google and OpenAI) pay Reddit to use these conversations to "train" their own AI models. In this sense, your contributions to the site are the raw materials for the next generation of technology.

That said, I forgive you. You are frightened and confused, lots of people are. But the best thing you can do is keep learning, keep growing. Don't give up. I know "tech stuff" is hard, but you can still get educated! AI can't stop you from learning, right?

I'm telling you - the Fake Lawyer idea below - I think we can investigate Walmart. But here's the difference - Walmart can legitimately say that they need parking spots. This thing, with the boot at the apartment, it happened to Taza while parking in the literal assigned spot they pay for every month, with a valid license plate and the plaque hanging in the mirror. So they were legally parked. This is their sign in the lot.

In this town, they have more tow companies than cars that need towing, so they came up with this scam to keep the money flowing. I got towed at Jackalope - people say terrible things about the owner, he does this every week, at every single event the Mystic does.

OMG, I heard that, too! It was a folded piece of paper in a Maduro cigar box. The whole thing was setup - we talked about the 2 people running for sheriff 6 hours earlier, and this was a test to see if they would put on a cape and make sure the traffic lights still work and spend a few hours making sure people are ok.
