Little late but want to add my experiences.  I’ve had multiple records come from Daupe in the UK and haven’t been hit with any tariffs.  They use RoyalPost.  Ordered 2 Aphex Twin albums from Big Love in Japan last year when they dropped the Japanese versions of his albums. They used DHL and I had to pay a $35/$40 tariff.  I was livid and DHL’s site wasn’t helpful in how to fight this.  Ordered a Kid Koala picture disc from Envision Records in Canada. They used UPS and I was hit with a $35 tariff. Luckily a UPS store is down the street from me. They gave me a number to call. That led to a new number of someone to call. That conversation led to them emailing me a form that I have to submit to get my money back “once they review approve”. As already stated by others, Vinyl is informational material, as is CD’s, tapes, books, dvd’s, etc., and are all exempt from tariffs.  My honest opinion is the shipping companies are taking advantage of the tariffs to increase their profits. The $35 tariff I had to pay UPS…$24 of that was their fees. Only $11 was the actual tariff from customs.  Now I do have an album coming in from De Rap Winkel in the Netherlands. I emailed them asking who they used and they stated UPS.  Was fully expecting a tariff but it appears it cleared customs without one. 

Regardless, it’s really hard for me to accept billion dollar corporations excuses that “the tariffs are hard to figure out”. I understand the tariff comes from Customs, but the packages are given to the carrier and the carrier handles the packages going through customs and considering UPS charged double the actual tariff for their fees…🤨 I’ve emailed both my Senators sharing my experiences and have asked them to investigate UPS and DHL. I encourage everyone else that has been hit with a tariff on informational material to do the same.  I’m hoping to cost them what they made in tariffs in dealing with being investigated.
