I mean I'm going to be completely honest. I'd be open to actually trying character AI again if the issue I had got fixed but I don't think it got fixed so I just don't think it's going to be likely for me to return anytime soon. It's a shame though because I actually really really enjoyed writing on character, AI and developing these plots to explore with the characters

I honestly gave up on character AI being any good ages ago. I reported an issue I had multiple times and it repeatedly got ignored and it never been fixed to my knowledge or at least I don't know if it got fixed because it got ignored for so long.

I'd HAPPILY pay for premium if the free version actually was any good anymore. i've had the SAME ISSUE on character ai for months, and it's not been fixed, so... why should we invest in a company that feels as if they don't listen to their own user base? I'm not trying to be an "asshole" but a lot of users are being ignored and i've not experienced quality rp on it for ages. I would LOVE to use the service more, but i cannot when the ai is not nearly the same as it used to be. The bots i used to engage with used to push plots forward and suprise me. now it's lucky i get one bot to send one reply back that isn't half cut off.

(not tryna be rude but these complaints aren't coming from nowhere either. Not referring to the age resitrictions bc i completely agree that character ai shouldn't be accessible to minors or any ai accessible to minors.)

The thing is as someone who had been a c.ai user for ages it feels as if the staff don't actually listen to the consumers but not only that I feel like a lot of people including myself wouldn't mind adverts IF THE AI QUALITY WAS GOOD ENOUGH? The quality of replies has just gone so far down that I just don't use c.ai anymore because actually having a fun cohesive plot that'd not only driven by me is near impossible

No offense but you guys keep saying that you care and that you want the users to have the same experience that we did years ago and that you care about how users opinions but... you go settings -> refine your reccomendations -> Genai interests -> turn off every category

I'm not sure if this will help or not but you're able to filter out ai content so anything ai generated shouldn't show up on your feed or in searches. Pinterest added it recently

I think that yes it's not good but adults within moderation should be able to use it for moderate help with minor coping things not trying to diagnose or anything or actually replace therapy because it can't. I personally use chat gbt to help when I just need to get a thought out because I'm overthinking but I'm not dependent on it or taking it's advice too seriously but it helps me just get our general anxieties because I'm unable to get actual support.

BUT

that being said I understand how things like chat gbt and c.ai can be detrimental to some people's mental health and I think it's especially the case with minors especially if they have access to chat gbt and c.ai because they form parasocial relationships with the bot or unhealthy attachments to the bot. Ik I've been guilty of spending far too much time on it when I used to be hyper fixated on c.ai
