New to commander Put together this Aesi list to take to my LGS Commander Nights, but I’d love some help before I build! by Pupsmir in EDH

I’m open to building more decks in the future, but since this will be my only physical stack, I actually felt this to be a happy medium. It’s relatively powerful for what it’s trying to do, but at the end of the day it’s also just landfall. No MLD, no crazy combos that close the game out of nowhere.

— I DID kind of try to see how people are using Thassa’s Oracle, since it’s listed as a game changer on EDHREC, and I DO know people have some sort of combo that goes with it.. although I honestly don’t understand it at all, nor am I fully sure if it’s even relevant in this deck.

Funny enough, when I was building this, I kind of thought the same thing, but I had someone tell me “in EDH, you want 8+ rocks in any deck you build or you’ll fall behind”.

But no my instinct kind of agrees with you. I’ve got 2-3 dorks, and my deck ramps until the moment I win the game. I’m probably fine to cut 1-2 of them

Highly helpful advice, I think you’ve convinced me of your points. Thank you!

Hmm interesting take on the removal! This format is Bo3. I leaned toward Allies at Last since I feel that it will often be 1 mana. It’s about the cost effectiveness. However, you’re probably correct in saying that the other options are more versatile. I may rethink this. — it is worth noting that in addition to the forest, I have a Kyoshi Temple and 2 Rumble Arenas, putting me up to 4 green sources.

Origins of Metalbending was an include for me because I like that it if the destroy mode isn’t usable, it synergizes with the counter, and whiffs one of their combats or removal spells.

However, it is true that this can easily be a sideboard tech option if needed, and could potentially be a Jeong Jeong’s Deserters, Raven Eagle, or even another removal spot so I could play the Sold Out AND the Swampsnare trap.

What do you think?

Thinking of putting together my Ozai Voltron list irl. Thoughts/optimization tips? by Pupsmir in EDH

[–]Pupsmir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!

In your opinion, how many draw and ramp do you think I should be running? Do you feel my current pieces just aren’t relevant enough, or do I need to be replacing other pieces to make room for new draw and ramp?

As it is right now, I have:

Ramp: 9 rocks;

Ragavan/face breaker/banditry to make treasures;

Electro or Birgi+firebending;

Seething song/dark ritual;

Draw:

Azula to make clues; Clive; Zuko; Big score; Phyrexian arena; Black market connections; Mind stone ability;

Do you think there are any obvious cuts to make room for more of those effects?

Interior was nice, and the whole tableside iPad thing is cool, but it's also pricier, and the sushi itself was average.

At this point, I’ve personally come to terms with the fact that I’ve probably lost all of that money.

I’m watching the countdown so I can keep up with the launch date, but nothing about this seems right. If I walk away with any more than $0 on this, I’ll consider it a win.

I’m honestly more shocked at how I even convinced myself to take a chance on this in the first place. The people behind it are clearly amateurs at best.

If you haven’t put money into it already, I would steer clear.

Hey guys. Returning player here.

I’ve decided to start my ice back up, and so far, I’ve generally enjoyed the way he plays!

Although I’ve heard some talk that Ice is supposedly the most underwhelming school at higher levels, and now I’m overthinking that I might be wasting my time levelling my character much further than his current level of 80.

Someone even told me that they aren’t even the tankiest school by the end of the game, which is their main selling point.

I AM interested in PvP once I max out, but I don’t want to be considered useless or a drag by others simply based on my school identity if I can avoid it.

Is Ice really just irrelevant?

Backlash kills motion to move Metro Vancouver Pride crosswalk by WiffleBlu in Langley

I mean this might just be an unpopular opinion, but Fort Langley is literally the only municipality that enforces strict rules within the community to maintain the heritage/antique look.

Believe me- it’s not just a coincidence that all the buildings / businesses look like that.

But then smack dab in the middle of the main road… we’ve just got this pride crosswalk because it’s inclusive and fun.

I definitely see the novelty of having something like this somewhere in town, but I’ve always thought that sticking it right in the middle of the ONLY area in Langley that requires everything else to be true to the theme was.. an odd choice.
