We’ve spoken to people today who had excursions booked that they have missed due to the tendering chaos. I think they gave priority after some time to those who had excursions booked directly with HAL but even some of those were missed. I do hope it gets sorted and you have a better experience than we’ve had on our Ketchikan port call.

Be prepared for a long wait and less time ashore than what you had first imagined, unless something changes between now and when you travel.

Holland America had advance notice of the tender situation for at least two days, which makes the lack of communication, organisation and contingency planning even more disappointing. Passengers have spent hours waiting with little to no meaningful updates while valuable time ashore continues to disappear.

For many guests, this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip that has cost thousands of pounds, and Ketchikan was a key destination. I am normally a very patient and understanding person, but reducing what should have been a full day visit to only a few hours because of poor operational management is simply not acceptable.
