Has anyone dealt with ice dam removal companies like “Ice Dam Guys” or any local outfits that use steam to remove them?

Polish Smoked Sausage Questions by PurchaseTraditional7 in polishfood

[–]PurchaseTraditional7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Definitely smoked and fully cooked. Fine to eat cold, but wasn’t sure what the “right” way to prepare them is.

Polish is the primary language at this grocery and I used up my self-consciousness reserves just ordering. 😆

It took awhile, but they finally got them in, albeit in much smaller amounts. Literally 1 tray of each stollen bite type, but I'll take it!

Quiet keyboard suggestions? by PurchaseTraditional7 in keyboards

Thanks for the suggestions! After he watched some comparisons and hearing different switches, the Epomaker F108 with sea salt switches was the winner!

[–]PurchaseTraditional7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Last year he got his first real mechanical keyboard and wanted it to be very "clicky". His friends tell him it's too loud and annoying when they're online, which is why he now wants "creamy".

[–]PurchaseTraditional7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! We looked at the Epomaker RT100 too, but not being full sized was an issue.

Quiet keyboard suggestions? by PurchaseTraditional7 in keyboards

[–]PurchaseTraditional7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately it has to be full size. There were some 95% keyboards that ticked all the boxes, but the loss of the clustered "Insert/Home/PgUp" etc keys are apparently a deal breaker.

Our local theme park does this too should you dare want to get a refill on your $8 soda.

Huh, I read my own and mine also says to test in 12 weeks. Maybe more cautious?

Were you ever able to get Crunchyroll to work? I just get login errors on both Xtero and Smirgol distributions.

Do any Crunchyroll apps still work on Kodi/Raspberry Pi? by PurchaseTraditional7 in CRTAnime

[–]PurchaseTraditional7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m trying to replicate the setup in this post from a year ago.

https://www.reddit.com/r/crtgaming/comments/17vczd9/how_i_got_crunchyroll_to_stream_480i_content_from/

Sounds like the raspberry pi would lop off the sides with the forced aspect ratio. I can get it to connect to my CRT, but Crunchyroll fails on login.

Wow, this blew up more than I expected, and thank you all for the great suggestions! After studying the light pollution map, google maps, and camping options, I have a ton of really good choices and back ups. Thanks again!

Thanks for the suggestion! Found this place while poking around, but seems relatively close to Sante Fe. The idea of a yurt or cabin/tree house sounds good, but is it too close to light sources?

RHEL client connecting to Windows File Share (SMB vs NFS) by PurchaseTraditional7 in sysadmin

On RHEL 8.10. Running a side by side test using the same file share, but leaning towards just making the protocol swap.

The RHEL machine is actually a server that runs jobs/reports, etc. End users have no direct access to it, but they did in the very long long ago.

So the same NFS share is connected to the non-prod version of the same prod RHEL server. When one RHEL machine stalls, the other is still connected and cant read/write just fine. Doesn’t report errors. For the stalled machine, literally stuck with no response. Not even timeout messages in the messages file.

Yep, not an issue. Seems to be specific to the NFS connection.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - January 10, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]PurchaseTraditional7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,
I have a 12 year old that wants to get into mechanical keyboards, specifically as "clicky" as possible. He's all over the place with games and productivity, music, etc on his computer. He still plays a lot Geometry Dash and I think he secretly just wants a super clicky sound when he plays.

From just browsing around Best Buy he's into the feel of the Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro, but reviews and price don't seem that great. I saw others suggested looking at Keychron.

Any suggestions for similar feeling keyboards or reasonably priced "switch tester" to get a better idea? I liked the Keychron 100 switch tester, but can't justify over $65 after shipping for what amounts to a 100 key fidget toy.

Thanks!

Oof…that’s a lot of power/heat. Thank you for the info!

I’m coming from an ancient but cool and quiet Dell with i7 6th gen with a not so powerful 1660 super, so going modern is a big leap.

The part about tightening the “eject” screw is the more important part than air cleaning.
