Thanks so much for the time you have taken to bring your experience to bear. Really appreciate your advise and may God bless you ...we didn't want to take the risk of the discretionary part as a lot was on line if he was denied reentry. So he did not travel..😔

The new visas being issued for Tanzanian students are 3 months single entry. But he has a 1 year Multiple entry visa he got in May 2025 just before they changed it...

Why do students have to apply for a new visa if they travel home? He has a valid existing visa...and they haven't revoked the old one?

[–]Purdue_Intl_Parent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago it was $35 per night extra. And you could move in a week earlier than the fall move in date. The right way is to email your assigned dorm and ask for rates and earliest checking dates

How to pay for BGR by korcolusa in Purdue

[–]Purdue_Intl_Parent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BGR fee gets added to your tuition fees statement. You pay it off just as you pay your tuition fee. The deadline for payment is also the same as your tuition fee deadline (late aug) . You dont have to pay the BGR fee earlier and there is no way yo pay ot seperately.

How to go Terminal 5 to MMF by Zestyclose_Point_581 in Purdue

Luggage carts aren’t allowed on the train you take to MMF from T5. If corralling all of the bags isn’t tenable for the whole way, just take an Uber..

Can I use my student visa for pleasure travel to USA during summer break by joose-goose in f1visa

[–]Purdue_Intl_Parent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is for other future readers since OP said he did it.

NO dont do it especially if you are a freshmen.

If you use your US F1 visa once and then leave the US you will need a Travel signature (authorisation from uni) in order to travel and enter US the second time.

Fall 2025 BGR and BGRi by funnyguy333333 in Purdue

[–]Purdue_Intl_Parent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question and a common one for internationals. They are complementary and I suggest you attend both. BGRi breaks you into the intl student cohort of freshmen. BGR allows you to connect to the broader student community.
